Ive put back the standard CD/radio in my VRS as the sony one the previous owner had in was rubbish, but it keeps asking for the code when the key is removed and you goto start it up, ive got the right code and the radio works fine but asks everyime i go to start the car.

Is there a wire or something ive missed?

When the sony was put in the permanent live and the live on ignition would have been swapped over to keep the settings.

What you need to do is swap the yellow and red wires over. Should be relatively straight forward if the connectors are push ones.

sounds like the constant feed to the c.d player is not there,

have you made sure no wires have been chopped and changed at the back

cheers for that, what i had actually done was plug in some 2to1 plug to the radio , as it was attatched to the sony, i just removed that and plugged the brown and black connectors straight in the skoda one and its fine now.
