vRS suspension a lot softer than a vRS mkII

Featured Replies

I have had a mkII TFSI vRS from new (Now got 11k on it), and the OH bought a mk1 vRS from here last week. (Robs ex Police car)

After going for a drive a few minutes ago, the mk1 feels way too soft on the suspension. I had to go round a corner at 50 for fear of it wobbling off the road when I normally do it easily in mine at 65. Body roll is almost at French car levels when mine stays very flat.

The mk1 has done a lot of miles (130k), but the suspension was changed at 100k iirc so it shouldn't be that bad.

Are mk1's that much softer than mk2's, or does it sound like ours in knackered?

Any thoughts on a suitable replacement set if it is indeed kaput?

Ideally I'd like to spend around £300 max for springs and dampers, but can fit it myself.

Thanks :)

Doesn't sound right to me, my mk1 has very little body roll for the type of car that it is.

I have both!

I reckon that the Mk1 is slightly stiffer to be honest! Not a lot in it though! You really shouldn't notice too much body roll from the Mk 1 though! As mentioned above, it doens't sound right!

Thanks for the quick replies :)

I'll have a closer look in the daylight tomorrow as it sounds like something is not right :(

Dont forget fitting a rear ARB on the MK1 will help bodyroll a lot.

Hello sorry to interrupt but im picking up my mk1 vrs tomorrow.. Where's the best place to get a rear ARB then ?

cheers :)

Give Awesome a call 28mm Neuspeed rear bar.

The Mk1 is a bit stiffer and lower that the Mk2, so something doesn't sound right to me.
