disturbing judder under mid breaking!!!

Featured Replies

hi guys

jus a quick one.

i have recently noticed a major wheel wobble thru the steering wheel when breakin from 60+ mph.

took car in to skoda near cardiff city ground for them to look at the bad knocking noise that turned out to be the centre bracket on the zorst. they said they had looked at the suspention(hope it not that)

has anyone any thoughts?

i am getting some new tyres soon and i think it might help cos i have a slight vibration and wobble at 65+;)

Isn't that something to do with the discs being warped or worn out? especially during braking?

Check this out as a possiblilty..

HTH

Ben

Its only really going to be a warped or out of true disc.

cheers mate, i hope they arnt as they are not that old and they are sport ones with grooves.

they dont really get used that much as i dont really break. I prefer to be a fluid driver.

it has only jus started doin it since it went in thou?

It could be something to do with the said dealer. I ain't sure what exactly but anything is possible in that place. Techie cooking your brakes whilst "testing your car" for the knocking sound.

Pure speculation of course

What make are the discs? Did you foloow the specific bedding in instructions?

yea, not sure what make they been on for few month now.

fatty, what do you mean?

i have the original discs still, do you reacon i should put them back on and see?

If you havent got your centre mount sorted. I got mine welded at Kwik Fit for £15

You can only get the mount welded back on if there is enough left of it to weld..lol.

cheers i gonna get it sorted next weekend. if not i gettin new turboback zorst instead.

i am worried bout the wobble thou.

What I mean is maybe they have driven your car to within an inch of its life whilst testing it and over cooked your brakes !!!

Like I say though it this just a theory and may be far from the thruth.

As for them looking at your suspension I bet thats all they did ......look !!!!.......not check it properly

It may be worth swapping the original disc's and seeing if that makes a difference

I had a judder on the brakes when there were pad remains bonded to the disc. A few hard applications from 60mph sorted it out. I agree the usual cause is either warped discs or discs which are not sitting totally flat on the hub.
