Fabia VRS alloys, FR+ alloys, dilemma

Featured Replies

Hi there.

I've never liked the Fabia VRS alloys seem a bit small for the car when looking at it.

I've found some Leon FR+ alloys (similar to the Cupra ones but in 17") and I've been offered them for £400.

They have a couple of very small marks, and have 225/45/17 tyres on them. :thumbdwn:

I'm tempted, but having to get new tyres is putting me off a little bit.

I'm just interested to know from people who have sold their VRS alloys how much they have got for them (preferably on eBay, as I would sell them on there).

They have hardly any marks on them, just a few where the tyre fitters were idiots, and are fitted with Toyo T1R, about 5-6mm on back, 3-4mm on front.

£300-£400 if your lucky on them I would think.

I sold my vRS alloys about a month ago on eBay. I got £300 for them. As far as I am concerned they where great condition, and nearly perfect, and they where fitted with two Toyos and two Contis. They all had about 6mm of tread on them.

Anywho the dude collected them and he was chuffed, naturally I was surprised when he emailed me later and said he was not happy with the quality of them, he said they where far from perfect and had the odd kerb mark on them. He even had the cheek to ask for some money back. And he left me neutral feedback. What a berk......

If you do flog them on ebay Ultra_joel just be very, very careful how you advertise them. Make sure you point out the smallest of imperfections, even if you need a medical grade microscope to see them, because sods law says the new owner will try and pick up on them and want to blag some money back.

I bought a set from a fello forum member although he had posted them on ebay.

Came from an 06 vRS. Wheels were unmarked just showing very minor corrosion from the back of the spokes which is std! Came with two original Bridgestone ER300's with 6+mm of tread and two Eagles which were near new. I paid £350 deliverred.
