Bit of advice needed: RE Parking Sensors on new car

Featured Replies

You'd be suprised how many car dealers (all brands) use aftermarket ones for stock vehicles (how many don't declare it and charge OE prices is another matter....). I knowingly had them on my new Volvo, as recommended by dealer, for fraction of the price and colour coded. Absolutely perfect.

I am having them retrofitted to my 06 Merc' estate and the dealer is using aftermarket ones but they will be fully warranted by the Merc' warranty as done through dealer.

Thanks again for all the replies.

I've now had a few more days with the car and I now believe the sensors to be picking up kerbs as there is no other explanation for beep to go off.

I've also been back to the dealer and he said this would all be rectified for me ASAP. He just needs to book in the guy that fitted the sensors and he shall move the bleeper unit to under the b pillar and fully test the sensors again. I shall make sure I can be there with him at the time to make sure I'm not going crazy :D

All sorted!!! :D

Sensors were found to be over sensitive and the bleeper too loud.

It's sooo much better now.

I'm a happy chap!!

Got to get the bucket and wash mitt out tomorrow morning as it's filthy now.

Steve

Have they moved the bleeper somewhere more discreet?

Good to hear you are now happy!!

That's the only thing :( They said it would not fit behind the b piller.

I will be moving it myself, with a little help from a friend ex mechanic.

Any suggestions where to put would be appreciated?

Cheers
