did it online and the bloody questioneer said 5 years or more which i ticked.

mothers took my 7 years ncd proof last year so i dont have a copy of it.so when i insure elsewhere what do i tell them as i dont have a clue or proof ?:finger:

not robbed me yet im emailing my MP as we speak ,soon as i wipe this chilli sauce of my cake hole  that is

Thought with most companies it didn't matter if you had more than 5 years NCD... as long as you had 5 years or more it automatically meant you had "full" NCD i.e. about a 70% discount on your premium.

Mine is 30% discount on premium with 1 years NCD, 40% with 2 years and so on up to 70% with 5 years or more NCD.

I did the wifes insurance last week and they said over 4 yrs was full NCB?

More than was cheapest for me last year when i brought my Okty VRS (30yr old no points 9 yrs NCB) that was through Confused.com

I found tesco Fully comp but value cover the cheapest (on their website)... was 21 at time with 2 years NCB - £850.

Also found that elephant and admiral were always up there for price - but give tesco cover a try, though the value one doesn't cover the windscreen so be wary for chips!

Give Hastings a call they were the cheapest for me £350 fully comb with class 1 business use full ncb and Police Class 1 driver (IAM)

Kwik Fit have been good to me.

They wanted £750 this year and I have 2 years ncb, my prev policy was £700

I got a quote of £640 from the website, rang them and thats the price they honoured.

you could always request another insurance certificate as proof of the ncb or the prev policy details.

have to say ive been with them for years now. if i dont think theyve done well with the quote i just ring round a few places and get a better price, go back and they normally match it :)

thanks for the advice guys and girls will let you know the cheapest for me at the time i get it

It could be worse - I just renewed mine and more than were the cheapest (£343) but I saw my quotes rise £80 this year all because of a stupid old bat who couldn't stick to her side of the road last september and decided to claim on her (and my) insurance.

I didn't claim and my insurer paid out only £126 to hers  - It cost me £140 to replace my wing mirror!

Biggest mistake I ever made was stopping and helping her including cleaning out all the broken glass from where her mirror took out her window - if it ever happened again with no witnesses (as in this case) I'm stuffed if I'd bother to stop and let someone screw my insurance again :finger:
