I was wondering if anyone could help me out with the following:

I have a 53 plate VRS fabia bought a few months ago. She has vrs mats in her but the fasteners are mostly broken. The body of the fastener screws into the permanent carpet on the floor oof the car. There is then a part that pushes through the mat - oblong shape - that twists thru 90 degrees to keep the mat in place. It is these parts that fit through the mats that are gone.

I went to Skoda dealer today who siad that they only come with the mat sets - 57£ inc VAT - too much too pay when the mats I have are fine.

Does anyone have any idea where i can get these fasteners - 6 or so of them.

Is there any scrapyards near you where you can maybe take them from a scrapped Fabia?

Scrappies would be my choice.

Certainly wouldn't shell out for a new set of mats.

Although i did spot a set of Furby vRS mats on ebay yesterday..might be worth a punt if they came with clips.

Also for your info mate, when you order the Mats seperate, you DONT get the clips.

Mine are slowly ripping out of the carpet, so no idea how I'll replace them

Fair play steve. Altho I did ask the local skoda parts man and he said he used to have a box of spare ones that came with the mats he supplied - he had lost them all while moving building. He did state that the clips cam with the mats too....................

I am only reporting what he said and he seemed to know what he was talking about - maybe different suppliers - who knows?

You CAN buy them seperate though, 78p each.

As above, you certainly can get them separately........ i've just got a bag of 8 from Winners for £6.20.

Ive been looking for these for ages! I thought i was going to have to buy a new set of mats to replace 1 clip.
