Help Plz Vagcom Code Fault

Featured Replies

i have a fault which vagcom is reading could anyone plz tell me in layman terms what the following means and how do i put it right :

1 Fault Found:

18043 - Powertrain Data Bus: Missing Message from A/C Controller

P1635 - 35-10 - - - Intermittent

Don't plug vagcom again and you'll never see the fault again. Problem solved.

Seriously, with that sort of code unless you are noticing something not working then I wouldn't worry about it.

Thread moved to diag area :)

the heating control panal lights flash on and off and the air recirculation and air con buttons turn them selfs off to coincide with the flashing

What car is it?

Has anyone else had this problem or heard of this before ?

Just an intermittent loss of comms between the car and the aircon. Nowt to worry about. If the aircon stops working, then it's worth rescanning, and seeing if it's something more serious. :)

thanks for the reply ! but the aircon is not working as i mentioned ~ the heating control panal lights flash on and off and the air recirculation and air con buttons turn them selfs off to coincide with the flashing ~ therefore the air recirculation and air con are not working. i have rescanned a few times and cleared the fault but it comes back straight away.

has anyone else come across this problem before.

I'd say it might be a broken or damaged wire on the A/C Controller.

thanks for that info i'll start to look in that direction. would you or anyone else be able to tell me specifically where to look.

To be honest mate it's not an envious task.

What year is it?

Are you pretty handy with electrical diagnosis?

its a 2001 skoda fabia 1.9 sdi i'm no expert by any means but quite handy

There are two wires, CAN Hi & CAN Lo (Normally Orange/Brown & Lilac/Brown) that will go to plug XS2 on the Electical Controller under the drivers knee panel.

They would be the signal ones directly from the A/C controller.

The problem is it could also be under the bonnet to the ECU.

Does anyone have any detailed instructions on how i could attempt to fix this problem

It would be a case of getting a wiring diagram and tracing the wires looking for any dodgy connections. The key to the problem is finding out where the A/C controller is. I would start at the A/C panel in the car and would hope that it is a poor connection there. The CAN wires are twisted together, which will help with identification. It could even be an internal fault with a control unit.

This error means that the Immobilizer did not read the key. Car may start but will stop immediately.
