From the vRS estate I presume as they are shod with 205/55-16's

Would have been tempted if 17's but not sure if they fit the 4x4 estate. What was the reason why the estate has 16's - can you remember ?

The vRS estate has 16s because they are worried about body flexing with the stiffened vRS spec suspension , the vrs Hatch has 'brace bars' in the bootspace to stiffen up the shell , whereas it was found to be impractical to fit these in the estate , hence the 16s.

So I'd be probably be ok to fit 17s with the softer suspension of the 4x4 estate ?

Any ideas of the offset etc ? Golf/A3/TT? quattros are different I seem to remember from my A4 days ?

Reading the back of my old 16s (on sale as soon as I give them a good clean) they're ET42 offset.

Youd be better asking one of the other 4x4 boys here , off the top of my head I dont know whether theres a difference in offset between the 2wd and 4wd Octy. I thought that the fitment was identical to the TT/A3/Leon/Golf , but could be wrong!
