Noises when going over speed bumps

Featured Replies

Hi guys, been getting a strange noise from the front of my car when I’m going over speed bumps and was wondering if anyone knows what this may be.

Basically, when I go over speed bumps there is a loud creaky noise that comes from the drivers side.

The car is on FK highsports coilovers and I am quite familiar with the ARB bushes and wishbone bushes problems that these cars commonly have.

I have very recently had my wishbone bushes replaced to find that it made no difference at all. I have inspected my ARB bushes and they are fine visibly! I have also renewed the drop links and everything is sound underneath.

This noise is very funny as it only comes when the car is driven for quite a while. Normally bushes type noises only occur when the car is cold but then go away, this happens when the car is hot!

Does anyone have any other suggestions as to what I can look at? – as this is now really bugging me!

Many thanks

A recent thread covered this point and it was discovered that the most probable cause was the droplinks.

my Octavia2 does same, I think it could be anti roll bar bushes. my old octavia1 did it too, i used to squirt them with wd40, that kept them quiet for a couple of weeks at a time.

i have had the same problems on my last 2 cars 1 went to the stealers 3 times for the problem and they never managed fixed it. said it was bushes each time. i tried the wd40 on most of the bushes and other bits on mine and it never helped.

Similar issue on my car.
