I'm loving those seats!!!!! I've never been a fan of the GTI Tartan style seats.

Cheers

Dave.

Just spec a standard one with leather Dave ;)

More of a fan of the Edition30 if I'm honest. I was expecting to see P-Slots on this new one too :D

I do like the edition 30 but as it looks as though the Pirelli has the same improved stats as the edition 30 but with the more unusual interior i think i'd go for that.

Was talking to mate who works at the VW dealers in Sheffield and he was saying that the R32 orders are down at the mo due to people going for the edition 30's and saving themselves some dosh!!!!! :D

Whilst the R32 sounds gorgeous on song, I think I'd do the same, were I in the same position :) It must like a drink

Evo rate the GTi over the '32 anyway, in terms of an overall package and driver enjoyment/involvement.

A lot of people are getting a bit scared of the potential car tax costs of bigger engined cars, that's one reason why they are avoiding the R32, another is the fact that the GTI 230BHP versions arguably look better than the R and 4wd is seen as a bit of a luxury and 'more things to go wrong' by many buyers. And yes, it's a wee bit cheaper to buy the GTI. The GTI isn't exactly economical so I dread to think what the R32 does to the gallon, even in gentle driving I can't get my GTI over 30mpg!

The ED30 was discontinued because of UK owners kicking up merry hell over the fact that VW initially said they would only build 1500 and they had imported will over 2000 by the time they hasitly had to withdraw it! I don't think VW UK originally envisaged bringing the Pirelli to the UK. Shame it doesn't wear 18'' P Slots though!!!

Am I the only one who actually prefers the look of the standard GTI as the bits of black give it a nice bit of contrast?

Anyway here's a gratuitous picture of my humble 2005 model which is (probably) worth less than half the cost of a new Pirelli Edition!!!

I thought the P Edition had the same engine set up as the ED30.

Looking forward to getting one in, expect to see the seatsin a MK2 Golf near you soon...lol

Lots of owners of ED30 are up in arms as it was originally supposed to be a limited run of 1500 but they have exceeded that.

Lots of owners got together and it seems VW have bowed to pressure and launched the Pirelli which is a higher spec than the ED30 for similar money - so it's one in the eye for ED30 owners from VW.

It does.

This would look superb and they're really comfy too!
