What about them ???

Which car etc

I guess you want to know which one you need ???

Yes... :):):)

It's a octy I VRS

They have diferente working right? A BOV reduces turbo lag right? and a recirculanting valve?

Its a recirculating valve you want for the 1.8t vag engine. Like the Forge 007p for example.

the re-circulating valve forge spliter isn't good?

For what i read, the 007p removes the pssssshh noise?!!?

A blow off one vents the boost pressure to atomosphere giving the loud noise, but in an 1.8t engine the ecu has already accounted for that air so if you vent it outside of the system you should get a fault code.

So you really need a re circ one which blows it back into the system.

If it noise your after then a CAI makes the dump noise louder as theres no airbox to baffle the noise.

HTH

I can't talk about the splitter as I only have experience of the 007p, but I can say it does produce a pssshhhh noise rather than the more traditional pssstttt you might get from a BOV.

The splitter is sort of half and half

It allows you to adjust the amount of air vented to create the noise but still retain enough so that the fault code doesn't spring up.

Am I making sense ???

This info is from my limited knowledge so may be slightly inaccurate. But I think its kosher. I fit ain't I'm sure someone who knows better will correct me:)

Well ive got a cold air intake and Bailey DV30 (same as Forge 007) on mine and sounds like its a BOV so get one on and you should be sorted

For what i read, the spliter can work in both two ways, atmospheric and recirculanting. For the 1.8t engine they won't recomend to work it in atmosphere position! Like Uncle sayd, the 1.8t engine needs is a recirculating valve.

I will get a Forge 007p valve.

Any one bought the fitting kit for the colder side, or just exchange with the old one?

yeah, i already saw that link. I guess i can make that homemade, i don't have to get the kit from forge...it's a 120£ cheaper:P

i have a go fast bits fully adjustable blow off valve, whilst the car was standard i was running it 100% vented to atmosphere with no problems, once i got my car remapped, would go into limp mode,so now i have running 100% re-circulating,so what im saying dont bother with a bov,get a re-circulating one.

Bought Forge 007p recirculating valve.

Might arrive Monday or tuesday...Will post after fitting;)

stick with a recirculating type as a blow off will in most cases lose you power and bring dash light on, the same goes for the splitter.

I know that some tuners fit them but they dont work. I know of a few people who got a slit valve from STAR and have had running problems, dash light coming on and boost problems. they put a 007p back on and have had no problems since.

So beware and be safe and fit a recir and if you want some noise fit an induction kit. The cda from bmc sounds and works well on mine it has a subtle pssshhttt sound when changing gear.
