I have just had a new map put on my car by the ebay seller Ecu evolution.

My previous map was good but i seemed to suffer from the surge/ hesitation at the beginning of the rev range.

Ecu evolution contacted me to suggest i try a new map that they are now using, and i was the first to try it on a vrs.

I was a little weary at first as i liked the torque on my original map and it was made by a well known company, but i opted for it as it was free and also made by a well known company.

Results:

Surge has completely disappeared and the map is so smooth under full chat.

I have done boost logs with vag-com and the pressures never rise above 16.6psi.

Tonight i did a block 120 run, results were

Max torque 256lbft @ 4520 rpm (previously 237 lbft)

Max bhp 236bhp @ 5600 rpm (previously 209bhp)

My specs are in my signature.

Downsides with new map:

Mpg has dropped, but with that increase i would expect it to.

Yes i agree with you there, i Will have to get myself along to one of the RR meets.

Both previous and current runs were made via vag-com so it looks and indeed feels alot faster than before.

Great to see you got the surging sorted. Great price for a remap. I got mine through EBay and still impressed.

you drove my car before Mike, well this map is completely different to that one. You can literally feel it pulling a lot harder than before and max torque is achieved alot later too.

I just hope there is enough petrol in the country to keep me going :eek: as the fuel usage has gone up a fair bit.

Theres no way he can carry on selling them for £100 imo.

If he does, he is losing out, plus I'd have to have a word with his supplier, as he is seriously under valuing the product.

And yea Mart, I did drive your car lol - but there is n way on earth vag com is reliable, nor do i genuinely believe with your spec that you'd hit anywhere near 236bhp lol.

Yeah i agree, it won't be 236 bhp but i have always quoted vag-com figures and when my old map only produced 209 bhp from this spec i still quoted that.

220 ish bhp would be very nice though

Is your car still running well post map? Is the estimated result of 220ish BHP based on a stock vRS or have you done any other mods?

I am tempted to the point of working out how I will get around for a week whilst my ECU is in transit! Feedback from anyone whom has had this map done much appreciated.

an octavia with induction kit and a remap can hit 236... assuming its a decent 98 octane map.

i have the exhaust. posted monday back wednesday last time. I do have a bit of part throttle acceleration hesitation but its very smooth on full throttle.

Well for the the price i cannot complain. Its just the hesitations that some have that may bug you or your car maybe fine. With postal remaps you dont get the peace of mind that the mapper is there if there is a prob but he offers money back if not happy or offers to change map if your not happy. He also does a mobile service but its more money.

All good news! Out of interest, and as I am having the hesitation/surging problems with my remap, do you know if having an already remapped car will be a problem for them applying their map (does it need to be the original map)?
