morning everyone!! quick question about mudflaps

Featured Replies

hi everyone hope you are all ok. i am wanting to get some mudflaps fitted to my beast. i do realise that the fronts go on ok but not the rears. what is the work involved to get these fitted and i take it i just need to buy a fabia standard set? many thanks for all your help cheers

As you say, fronts go on no problem. Rears are little fiddly but basically same process.

If you follow down the rear wheel arch to the rear of the car, you'll find the vRS bumper plastic is thicker. That bit gets in the way of fitting the rear mudflap. I just ran one of those break-off type blades down to cut that off. It's fairly soft plastic so not hard to do.

You need to undo a few screws as per the instructions that come with the mudflaps, these are identical on the vRS.

You may also find that heating up the mudflaps a bit in warm water could help you fit them. You kinda guide them into their slots.

It's been a while since I fitted mine but try to get the fit smooth - sometimes a few times of fit somewhere near, then take off, bend a bit, put back on will get it to look nice and clean visually.

Underneath, the bolt at the back is a tad short and if you are able to do it, I'd get a replacement one that is a tad longer. If not, I'd probably try to secure that one - if it comes out it's not a disaster or anything, the mudflaps will stay on, but it just looks nicer ;)
