My better half has just got a new Fabia 1 1.2 6 valve model (the low bhp one). All going smoothly so far but I was wondering what oil to use in it? Being a new car I'm expecting it to use a bit so I would like to have some handy for topping it up.

I looked at the manual but I got a bit confused with the fixed and variable service intervals and the fact that it gives VW oil specifications.

You have to use VW approved oil, as its a VW group engine.

You could always ask the supplying dealer?

It's SWMBO's car.

Very nice actually. Don't expect swift acceleration on the motorway but it will cruise fine.

Cheers, SWMBO does not need swift acceleration, she has done that to our Octy and there is not one panel that does not need work:(
