Is it easy to change lower ball joints on a Felicia?

Featured Replies

I think one of mine needs changing. The Haynes manual says I have to take the whole front arm off. But looks to me like I should be able to just detach the ball joint by removing the retaining bolt and grinding off the three bolts that hold in on at the bottom. Am I missing anything? And anyone know what size replacement bolts I'd need - again Haynes says all 4 will need replacing?

Any advice appreciated. Thanks.

Sam.

the ball joint is secured to the hub carrier by a nut and bolt which kind of pinch the casting together, they are quite difficult to get out sometimes!!!

as you say, the balljoing is attached to the track control arm by 3 M8 bolts which should just unscrew, then the ball joint will slide out the end

a lot easier job if you change the bottom wishbone. it will only cost a few quid more

Thanks for the replies. I may get the whole wishbone as that does look a bit easier. To change that my good book says I should renew the nut that holds the wishbone on at the front - again, any idea size? M10?

Thanks.
