Dent / Wax / Polish / Detail - Stafford

Featured Replies

Afternoon all!

I'm looking to get my car all shiney prior to selling it. While I'm a bit OCD on the tidiness of the interior I've never given it any more than a basic wash/wax on the outside.

Its Black Magic and I'm a bit scared of causing more damage. There's a couple of dings to fix and stone chips. Also there's a bit of that fine swriling and evidence of next door neighbours cat getting up on the bonnet! I don't want to spend a fortune as I'm getting rid of it but equally I suppose I want to increase my chances of a sale.

Would it be a matter of getting the dings fixed seperately or are there people out there that would do the whole lot?

Anyone got any experience of this kind of work in or around Stafford? Any local Briskodians who enjoy buffing cars more than me willing to earn some extra cash / drink large quantities of tea / eat bacon sandwiches?

Cheers.

I've not personally heard of people offering dings/dent removal as well as full detailing services. There may be some out there though.

A world for detailers... would be a good place to have a look.

Also, posting some pics of the car, highlighting the areas you'd like correcting would probably help too :)

What timescale are you looking to have this done in?

Hello again.

Hopefully in the nest few weeks really. I got a couple of prices on the dings alone this weekend. Found a place by accident next to the garage I dropped the in-laws car into. They do wheels really but know a guy who does PDR. So they gave him a bell - he usually charges £60 quid a panel but said he'd do the three for £120. So got that booked in during the coming week. I'll report back and let you know how good a job he does and what still needs fixing afterwards.

Baker - are you in my neck of the woods? Cheers.

Timescale is possible for me, however I am in Banbury / Oxfordshire?

Hello again! An update...

Here's a couple of pics showing the main ding that got taken out of the drivers door by the PDR guy. They're not close ups, but you should be able to see it's prominence on the first pic... and it's gone when viewed from a similar distance in the second pic. All thats left is the touched in paint chip that was at the centre of the ding.

A few other dings where taken out on the other side of the car and the other guys painted the chips involved with those. They gave it a quick mop too and it certainly looks a lot tidier than it did. I know that's not a detail yet but then it didn't cost detail money either!

I'm still conscious of there being a bit of swirling still and some tiny chips on the wings and bonnet. That Dr Colourchip stuff on another thread looks interesting! However I might just see if anyone coming to see it is offended by its current condition before I spend any more money for the time being...
