The works! Kent area

Featured Replies

Hi have a 04 Black magic VRS. Have had it for a while now and after looking at cars on here I am becoming more and more annoyed with swirl marks and imperfections in the paint.

I am very interested in having the car detailed professionally and paint resored etc and wondered if anyone knows of anyone in the Kent area that is any good?

Any recommendatons greatly appreciated.

Have been looking at the black octy in the below thread and cant believe the difference it has made. All the swirls seem to have gone! I would imagine it to be quite expensive though?

I also have a rather nasty stain from the previous owner which looks like it could be bird mess that he obviously couldn't be bothered to wash off!

If you wanted to travel mate I could do this work for you easily but Sevenoaks is a long way away, get on DW and find someone local to you:

South - Detailing World

I'll do it :P ;), for a bacon butty and a filter coffe.................

See my thread " A good seeing to!" for a visual effect of my efforts.

Carefull Rich,

There'll be a queue ! :D

Baker21 would be a worthwhile travel if you wanted your car done.

I would...but i'm slightly too far away. :(

Thanks for the help all. Need to do something my bonnet looks like its been washed with rocks!

Think it might be costly though! I was reading a website that says they measure the depth of your paint before deciding whether it can be treated. Is there any risk involved with this kind of treatment?

No idea, sorry. :(

If you want a damm good clean, I'm allways happy to help. 7oaks is 15/20 min drive from home.

Thats a good site some impressive work on there. Thanks for the link:). Me thinks i need to save a bit more!

Yep, detailing isn't cheap.

But definately worthwhile if you can afford it. :)

If you organise for a professional to come out then they will quote you on what they see and I can't comment on your car without having seen it nor am I a professional.

The idea of 'Machine Polishing' your car will always take a little of the Clear Coat away but once it's been done you then need to sort your wash process out for this damage to not occurr again.

Just dragged this thread from the depths of hell - as i too am after some help in the Kent (Dover ish) area.

Have had the Octavia for around six months now, and TBH think that the paintwork was a bit off when i bought it second hand from the main dealer. It's been a little while since i bought a car second hand and perhaps i was over-estimating the level of finish and tarting up a dealer would do nowadays  Also, I must admit that i didnt see any of the 'minor' imperfections when i was deciding to buy it and just got too caught up in the love of the car and bought without really geting the microscope out. :o

I really do not feel confident with my ability to get it right myself from reading online, but have always cared for my cars pretty lovingly and maintained the 'brand new' finish fairly well. Anyone information on rough ideas to price and quality of local companies would be mucho appreciated, or even suggestions as to anything i could do in advance that might help keep the cost down - planning for a babay means that shelling out wads of cash on the car might not go down too well with the Mrs!

There are a few people on DW that will offer you tuition or you can get a Pro to come out that is local to you and learn from him while he works on your car?

As I stated above if you fancy a trip to Northants then I am happy to help and give you some tuition or if you wanted me to detail your motor then drop me a PM........
