  1. I have updated my system to V7 6 digit post code and firmware 2680 I think. In my original radio when reversing the sound of the radio/cd reduced and a display indicated the position of objects. Is this option available in the RNS510? Where can I get a Mic for the voice control or can I alter or tap into my Kuftec/Fiscon Blutooth Mic? The young lady keeps saying "Pardon"
  2. Sit in the middle of the back seat, plug in your PSP to the AUX, turn the sound up, get into any game big time. People may look, but when waiting for a ferry etc who cares.
  3. I was not thinking of it being on the car at the time of the MOT but would it fail due to the wheel and tyre not being a match for any wheel and tyre on the car. I always thought, if you had a spare wheel it would have to match. also would my insurance be void if I had an accident with this wheel and tyre fitted after a puncture etc. Because now my tyre is no longer to the specified speed rating for the car. Yes it does say "Speed Limit 50MPH" but you know what insurance companies are like. Loop Hole!??
  4. UV Worldwide have V6 at £79.00 I purchased my RNS510 from them (fitted by another shop who deal in radios etc. they have a deal) and they let me update to V5 a year later for free. I just installd it outside the shop and gave the disc back. A bit cheeky I know.
  5. My VRS 07 plate has a full size spare but..... The wheel and tyre are not the same size has the ones fitted. I have 18" alloy wheels. 225/40 R18 Z The spare is steel with 205/55 R16 91V. Plus it is speed restricted to 50 MPH. What's that all about? Would it be illegal to use this spare wheel because it would not be the same type of wheel and tyre for the same axle? If this is so, I assume the car will fail its MOT.
  6. I am not to sure about taking the whole bumper off. I can pull the washer part out of the bumper to get to it but can I buy the eye-ball bit?
  7. Hi, Can anyone tell me the part number or how to replace the "eye-ball" in my headlamp washers? I was in Yorkshire when the Ice and Snow hit and when I tried to wash my screen the fluid had frozen and the resulting pressure popped one of the eye-balls out on the near side unit. Would I have to replace the whole thing and how do I get to it, keep it out, ect? Cheers
  8. I am looking to get a free upgrade from the place i purchased the unit so V5 is not bad. I will see if I can get V6 off them later.
  9. I am hoping to update my maps towards the end of this week to V5. Has any done this? Are there any pit falls? Are there any changes to the operation of the unit?
  10. I suggest you whip out the nearside light and adjust the beam deflector but put it back for the MOT (or you could leave it to see if it passed). It will take about 5 min's, this should reduce the kick-up effect on nearside lane but keep some kick-up from the drivers side. There is a thread on how to do this. Cheers
  11. Mine also kick up but I have never been flashed or 'Wayne-kerred' my opinion is they are less likley to pull out on you because they knoow you are there. Also be a bit more considerate and drop back a bit or overtake. I have flipped mine for the continent on a recent trip to France and they were fine.
  12. I am sure some nice VAG COMer will do it for a pint??? Plus second rear FOG??
  13. Think about a re-cover. Skoda do an option full leather. I think £1200. A good dealer may point you to a place so you can do it direct. The seats will fit afterwards. VINDIS SKODA - Skoda used car website. 59 COWLEY ROAD CAMBRIDGE CAMBRIDGESHIRE Have a red VRS Registration: AJ58WUU You can just see the trim with red pipe work. I have seen one of these cars and it looks great with VRS logo in seat back.
  14. You can turn on Steering/Indicator activated fog lamps. They will light up as you turn the steering wheel below 10 - 15 mph or if you indicate this will over-ride the steering and activate the fog in that direction. JUST LIKE MINE
  15. Try these people. Autotronics Leicester, 0116 2228389, Nilash. They can do head restraint fitting and if you have a RNS510 join it all together. If you haven't got a RNS510 why not? Cheers
