Has anyone on here successfully changed the brushes on the Valeo heater blower motor?

I have cleaned the motor with brake cleaner and it's working again.. but for how long? :S

If you measure the size of the brushes and note how they are mounted with the wire coming out and google the size you might have some hits ? cheers - Stuart

Should you not find the correct ones, you can get some oversize, they are very soft and can easily be filed down to size, as long as the sides remain square and parallel.

I cleaned the armature gaps with a junior hacksaw blade to just below the surface of the commutator.

Both worked a treat for the next two years.

I had to do this on a campsite in the south of France as the N/S window lift had broken too. Saw temps of about 43C, so felt it necessary before going off to Italy.
