Fabia gearbox / clutch problem?

Featured Replies

My dad went to go out for a drive in his 2009 Fabia Greenline yesterday, went to select reverse and even with the clutch all the way down the gears grinded as it went into reverse. He is also saying that when driving forward the gear selection feels weird, and when for example he changes down to 2nd to enter a roundabout he describes it as kind of clunky.

He has owned the car for more than 2 years (bought secondhand), and not done a great deal of miles.

Its booked into Progress Skoda (Letchworth) for Friday 27th), the warranty runs out soon so he is keen to get it sorted.

Anything he should get them to check?.

Hi Mannyo, I think this one should be fairly obvious to whoever checks it out. Sounds as it it's a clear case of the clutch not disengaging properly. It's either a faulty clutch component or a worn out clutch, or a problem with the hydraulics. Doubt it's anything other than that and should be easy to diagnose and fix. Hope it's sorted nice and quickly for him. Cheers buddy.
