Got myself (soon) another little project I think.  Cheap as chips MY2000 Renault Megane "Liberte"

In need of some paint restoration, then shift it on again.  ;)   Be interested to find out what a bit of detailing work can do.

Crappy pic.

It French, yes. But these are pretty solid cars nonetheless. One of the very, very, very, very few French cars I would consider owning.

EDIT: What engine? If its the 16v 1.8 you're lucky. It probably the best engine the French have ever made.

Its a 1.4, so cheap tax :D  Finally have it in my possession.  Currently dumped at the back of my drive. :D  Close to an external power point for the machine polisher. ;)

Unfortunately has no radio in, and holes in parcel shelf for 6 x 9s, but there we go.  Might see if I can find one cheap.

There was a fire had there some time ago, but the ash was never cleared - I didn't light it, but will probably end up cleaning it up!  :(

Its not even in my name - I have the whole logbook, so is sitting there until I am done, and then sold on. :)

If it ends up being a total dog I might end up breaking it for spare parts but would rather see it being used, as it drives fine.

First job sorted this evening.  Chucked the front end on to my ramps as I knew the exhaust was blowing somewhere down the front.  Looking underneath soon found a fair break in the system just after the cat, that someone before had tried to keep together using a kind of fencing wire.  A bit of stubborn persuasion saw the part rejoined, and the wire put in a better place to re-inforce the join.  Now all is quiet again.  :)

Drivers side mirror glass sorted from egay, and I will be looking at the big dent later on, and machine polishing tomorrow.

Well, bit miffed as the paint on this car appears to be unable to be "re-redded" - Hit it with hardest pad and toughest polish I have and it did nothing but remove swirls, so now I'm basically just going to shift it on cheap.  I gave the car a quick going over with SRP, and hoovered it.  Done!  Here's a few pics.

Doesn't look all that bad, mate. And 88k on the meter is pretty good for a what, -99? -00?

Just get rid of those horrible wheel covers.

Well, saying goodbye to the heap on Tuesday.  Sold on Ebay for a bit more than I paid, enough to cover Ebay fees and the couple of parts I bought for it.  Just glad it didn't turn out to be a £300 down the drain total wreck. :)
