64 GB SDXC card in Bolero - does it work - has anybody tried?

Featured Replies

So that's my question. Bolero manual says that it'll work with the SC cards up to 32 GB and that's true. But has anybody already tried a 64 GB SDXC card? Did it work? Would be great to know before making a purchase decision of such SDXC card

Running a 32gb with no issues. There are others on here who I believe run 64gb, not sure whether they'll see this though.

I don't I have enough music for 64gb card!!

I asked this question once before but nobody answered.

Coops, if you ripped everything at 320kbps you'd soon fill 32GB. I rip at 198 to keep a balance and my SD card has approx 20GB on it at the moment so quite a bit of space left.

I don't have enough money for 64gb card - looks like my entier Superb is cheaper :).

Personally I wouldn't touch it with 10m pole :giggle: .

I don't mind buying some cheap/no name stuff. But when we talk about data I'm extremly critical about the memory I use. Have seen/read enough  .

Moneywise - it's extremly well priced - friend just bought Sandisk 32GB for the sam money and it was already cheapest on the market

...and it's a class 10 card...very cheap. I usually pay a bit more and buy Kingston as they have a lifetime warranty.

It seems no matter what brand you buy, and from which retailer, there's a good chance it's fake and the same as any other. I've had no problems with any of mymemory own brand products though they haven't seen heavy use.

Everyone thinks music. I installed a 128 gig ssd harddrive in my 510 and it is great. Besides music I have put audio books, podcasts, and interviews on it. Think beyond music, there is a heap of stuff out there to be listened to. I haven't filled the drive though I have the music to do it but then I never expected to fill it, the price was right so more storage could not hurt and he who has the biggest toys wins!

Was it easy to replace the hard drive in the Columbus and how did you clone its contents?

regards

What difference did this make to the start-up time? I know that a SSD significantly improves the start-up time for a PC, but does it have any discernible impact on the Columbus?

I've replaced SSD drives on a few Columbus units.

It's not that hard if you can hold a screw driver and can follow simple instructions like these. I haven't found a way to clone the old drive so I just opted to installing everything from scratch.

Columbus is a bit faster with SSD but since Columbus uses old PATA/IDE connection it's not that much faster at startup as one would expect when comparing to PCs.

So, anyone tried 64GB card yet?

64GB SDXC card doesn't work in the Columbus. It doesn't work plugged into the MDI via a card reader either.

I'm hoping that a 128MB flash drive, plugged in via MDI will work - as does the 500GB Buffalo mini drive I already have and use.

128MB USB flash memory works with the MDI despite being exFAT format like the non working SDXC card

try re-formatting the card to FAT32 or whatever the norm is. I know not strictly related but this worked with my HTC phone and thats only supposed to take 32gb maximum aswell, its now running a Sandisk extreme 64gb

Tried that but couldn't do it.

i believe its the sdxc format, the sdhc format should be ok, but these have an upper limit if 64gb i beleive
