Just got my Fabia Vrs on Sunday. I've put my Sony Tune Tray in from my Type R. The guy had a sub and amp in before me but kindly sound deadened the car, and left the cables in!

A bit new too ICE in terms of amps etc. What can I replace the oem rears with? Is it worth getting an amp to run the speakers etc?

Thanks.

From what I have read and my future plans.

Amp the front speakers and upgrade them first
Then amp a sub
Then upgrade the rear speakers but Jo real need to amp though. Front should be good enough.

Does that help? :)

I'd like to know too, so i'll be keeping an eye on this thread. I know they need to be shallow due to limited door space, but some recommendations of half decent makes/models that fit would be very welcome. not too expensive though.

Cheers

I recently fitted a pair of these:

They claimed to be 53mm mounting depth, but when I measured them were actually 65mm total!

The magnet sits right on the window runners, but the door cards still sit over fine. Any bigger would NOT work though. The door card wouldn't fit flush if it wasn't pulled in by the screws etc.

I made my own housings out of MDF, which were then bolted to the door in little chiselled recesses.

I'm not convinced they are as bassy as the stock speakers - but I wonder if that is because the amps are not up to it... Sorry to hijack, but what sort of amp would I use?
