Karting 2013

Pete, how does this stand now with regards to the race (as it fell a tad short of 20), will we still be in teams as per the endurance race or will this change to head to head?

Lee there are 24 paid up people attending. I have some buddies that are coming along but as they arne not anything to do with Briskoda I didn't list them. So it's 6 teams of four over two hours.

@Simon and group1vrs pffffft ;) I am out of condition anyway and last time I drove a kart was several years back on a puny single honda 4 stoke 40 mph job at the Gaydon meet and even that was pretty exhausting after about 20 mins on a twisty track. I think driving a twin engined kart on a twisty circuit such as Buckmore would call for considerable stamina :p I reckon a two stoke Kart would be even worse: karts are really physical to drive :)

2stroke is a real killer. You need to do specific exercises to prep yourself. I am rather fit but the last time I was in one my forearms ached for a week, ribs were sore and I though somebody replaced the engine in my car with an asthmatic donkey and upgraded brakes to thin cardboard ones :D . I will be doing it again next summer as I live 20mins from Rye House track, the home of Club100

What kind of exercises out of interest?

Thanks Matt, but really there's no need. I still haven't found the right occaision to wear most of what you got me last year..........

I can help you out Matt,I've a few gifts you can give to Beryl including; some wrigleys chewing gum hardly used (only for three hours) comes with original wrapper, spearmint flavour. A roll of secondhand toilet paper, white(ish), mostly three ply with some finger holes included. BNIB large butt plug coloured pink with duracell long life batteries, test run once, all working fine, according to Justin.

For karting is upper body strength, but especially your arms. They have "fake" steering wheels with weights on chains or cables attached and they simulate turning it. Weighted head bands AF general cardio with stamina work. Every personal trainer has their own routines for the drivers really :)

Mike, you can't 'regift' the plug. It took me ages to find one that size & colour for you?

There is a chap I'm aware of called Wayne King. If that fails then its a game of luck or could become expensive !

Hi guys, been away a while (since before X-mas) and just remembered I paid for a karting session but I did not exactly remember when it was suppose to take place and I was afraid I'd missed it!

Ufff, not so - now looking forward to it even more!

Hi Everyone due to unforeseen circumstances the Karting event will not take place at the end of this month. All people that have paid will be issued refund. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused. Cheers Pete.
