Intercooler pipe tool?

Featured Replies

Anybody know of a specific tool for putting the little 'hump' on intercooler pipes to help stop your hoses popping off? I want to finish making my pipework but ive hit this snag :(

Hmm, never heard of a tool... Possibly a blunt, round punch? Even that would probly do more damage than good!

I'd look into getting the 'hump' spot welded on maybe?

Id thought of this, but i wondered if there was a tool for the job. Rather do it myself and i cant tig weld the alloy :')

a pipe flaring tool would do the job

If i cant find a tool i probably will, but i have 3 cars at least that will want pipework doing :')

And wanted that 'i did that' feeling

Pirtek could possibly do it.

pipe beading tools run into thousands of pounds, you need different sized mandrake for each size...

I made my own tool for putting the beads on the ends of intercooler, it cost me £1 to make plus a pair of old mole grips.. It's just an m12 washer and an exhaust saddle clamp all welded together... And it works really well too.
