Hi chaps,

Thinking of getting a pressure washer in order to help snow foam and clean my vrs octavia. I was wondering if any of you have used one of these? It's a Nilfisk C110.3-5 AUTO 1400W.

It says that it comes with a click and clean foamer nozzle with a detergent bottle but not sure of this will suffice.

Cheers.

Les.

Just spent the spare 60 odd notes I had on cleaning products, could have done with my own jet washer and been looking at one of those :wall:

If it makes you feel any better i just spent £125 on various cleaning bits and bobs. My car looks very nice now but I'd like to be able to snow foam it next time as well as my wife's car too.

It wasn't the amount, just the fact I had it spare money to "waste" as "she" would say :giggle: but spent it on other stuff rather than the jet washer.... never mind!

Likewise, I wanted my own pressure washer so I could buy the correct snow foam lance rather than buying one to fit the pressure washer I borrow. I tried the snow foam attachment which came with my last pressure washer (black and decker thing which blew up after less than 12 months) and was rubbish, so now I insist on getting a proper one.

I am awaiting the arrival of my Nilfisk 120 3-6 with all the bits from Amazon. It has all the bits for car cleaning etc and was recommended as a make by numerous people on this forum.

ETA was yesterday and again today no sign but as the weather was good I spent 3 hours outside cleaning the beast. The snow foam to use in the pressure washer is waiting in the garage.

That's a good price, especially when you consider the extra attachments, the under chassis nozzle is usually £14 alone.

It's a shame the hose isn't a little longer, 5m makes it more likely that it could touch the side of the car, but the next unit up (C120) with a 6m hose is £100.

Nilfisk = aluminium pump so good for durability too.

A good quality hose is important, especially if you use it regularly or professionally.

£60 for the pressure washer then another £40 for a hose, £30 for a quick release connector and another £40 for a better quality detergent bottle...

£170 :giggle:

Just ordered a Nilfisk c110 with lance, patio cleaner etc after reading reviews here and other forums from Amazone ( although temp out stock, so hopefully turns up ) for £49.99. Will buy a foam gun and then hopefully sorted.

Sounds good. Did yours come with the foamer that foes with this as standard? If so, was it any good?

Cheers.

yes it was absolutely terrible.

Les,

Blame it on me- I don't mind!

Great machine had mine over a year, the hose is awful so i got this

Then i got this http://www.ebay.co.u...=item2a18734b9a

and the foam gun you want is this

I've got the standard kew/nilfisk foamer shown in the argos add and I'm pleased Grizzle says it's rubbish! It puts the foam on. but it's not thick, so must be the fact that the snow foam lances introduce air too, which the freebee one doesn't, so if you've got a proper snowfoam lance you'll get a thicker foam that stays on the car and does the bus for longer (even with my crap one it still does a reasonable job) - have I git that right G?

If so I'm going to get 1 too......

Les,

The 90 degree attachement is great under the wheel arches and under the sills, just make sure you hold on to it under the wheel arches as it pushes back as the jet hits the car's wheel arches because they're close to the nozzle.

Exactly right mate.

Ta bud,

Hi Ho Hi Ho it's off to ebay I go.....good job I do the finances!

P.S. have put 2 more coats of H2GO on my screen will let you know if it worked

Done two on mine again today lol.

No wonder you bought so much, the little pump bottle would be no good to you! I'm just waiting for it to rain now to see if it worked....shouldn't be long...I even took my wheels off today and put some AG wheel sealer on the bits I couldn't get at easily when they were on the car. now that's sad :giggle:

I got the nilfisk c110 for more or less the same a couple of years ago. Great little machine, crap bottle thing, well for snow foam anyway, I found it works quite well for rugs and mats when you have been flooded.

Little tip, don't - ever - mention the patio attachment thing. Throw it away, asap. Unless you like spending two days in the freezing cold, er freezing. With freezing wet and cold hands, feet, face, legs, back, ears and so on.

Thank you for all the replies. I think I'll go with that pressure washer and buy a separate snow lance. Maybe the one mentioned on this post or an auto bright. However, before I'm going to buy it ill check out splott market tomorrow morning as there is always loads of people flogging various washers. Some good, some useless, but there may be a bargain to be had.

This car cleaning malarkey is addictive!

Thats the model i've got, its brill. However, the little bottle that comes with it for the snow foam stuff is rubbish. I bought a seperate snow lance and its been ace

Despite the fear of ridicule, I will show you how FUBAR rolls in this department. Goes on normal garden hose quick release thingy. I just use it for shampoo personally but can set my own mix in it and with some mega water pressure here it is very good can make car white in seconds. Perhaps it may be of use to someone as a stop gap or on a budget.

You might get one on detailing world too but I got mine off Amazon and it's been great apart from the issues mentioned above - hose..etc

My little karcher has a hose on the machine to put in any soaps or cleaning liquid. All you do is turn the lance so it drops the pressure, then it starts sucking up the cleaning solution.

But it wont work like Snow Foam does

OK for applying Shampoo if you want..... but its best applied via a bucket IMO

+1 on this .... and ChrisR should know!- the type of 'gun' that comes with pressure washers as standard only mixes the solution in the bottle with water, to get it to produce snow foam properly you also need to mix in air which the karcher attachment won't do if it's anything like the standard one I got with my Kew. Yes it produces a white foam, but it's thin and runs off the car more quickly, so does sort of 1/2 a job
