vrs oh yes - Project beginning

Hello BRISKODA.NET!

This isn't going to be a 'bling bling forge 300bhp nitros R888' thread im afraid.

More of a chance to share my changes and accept some opinions and criticisms from my internet pals.

I have had the car since December last year and have naughtily, against my better judgment, made a few changes to her;

K&N Panel filter

Piper Decat/downpipe

Superchips Remap

8000k retina destroying HID Kit (which bang for buck is brilliant)

LED Sidelights

LED rear number plate lights

And as of today,

Satin Cossack grey,

Compomotive MO5 - 16 x 7j

Here's a pic or two. I'd like as many opinions as I can to be honest so dont be shy :)

Thanks for looking.

Wheels look great. Just need to get some centre caps :)

I'll be the first to say lower it! Will make the best visual difference.

Great looking car otherwise :)

Cheers! I have the chrome centre caps but because of the hubcentric spacers I'm going to have to modify them to fit. Nightmare.

Lowering is on the agenda, just how I'm going to do it I'm not sure.

Thanks for your input :)

I have kw shocks and springs. Doesn't give a massive drop but improves the look and more importantly the handling :)

Liking the wheels :D what profile are the tyres? I like the chunkiness to them.

Would personally swap your 8000k for something little more usable (less abusive lol). I've got 3000k's, brilliant yellow glow, but when looking at it it looks more like 4000k with slight blue shimmer..

I didnt aim for chunky tyres lol.

The rears are 245 45 16 Hankook v12 - Nice tyres :)

The fronts are 245 45 16 Yokohama AD08! The wheels came with them but two were dead. thought i'd run with these until they die too.

They are awful in these cold damp conditions!!

NO WAY am I replacing my nice white light for banana bulbs! Thats the reason i went HID initially.

Plans are;

Rear arb.

lowering her, somehow.

312mm set up.

possibly the rest of the piper system.

Thanks for the comments :)

You are on to a winner here mate.

Lower it quickly. I would suggest coilovers.

Loving the positive feedback. Looks like I'm going to have to bite the bullet and get some ap's..

What else will i need? Best place for top mounts?

Cheers.

The first photo makes it look like it has a HUGE roof spoiler! :D

The first photo makes it look like it has a HUGE roof spoiler! :D

Thats exactly what I noticed lol.

Car looks awesome. Top mounts, bearings and Ibiza Cupra bump stops are what I'd use when fitting coilovers :) I got mine from AVS.

AP coilovers ordered!

Brought from AMD for £400.20 delivered.

Looking forward to receiving and fitting them!

You might struggle with those tires as they are rather big for the fabia!

Standard size is 205/45/16 so 245 with a 45 profile is chancing it a bit! You might have got away with 245's on a 40 profile thats if they even do that size :o

WOAH EPIC TYPO FAIL!

The tyres are 205-45-16!

Can't beleive i wrote that twice without anyone noticing!

Well spotted that man.

Going to look good when you get the coils on with those wheels

Just a shopped up teaser. I'm sure i'll give in and slam her but I intend (for now) to lower her substancially but moderately. I hope the ride isnt destroyed too much.

Fitted the Ap's the day they arrived and have only stopped driving as I'm low on diesel!

Dirty car but shows how they sit. Almost exaclty matching my photoshop mockup :)

Very nice, should settle more than that after a few days.

Looks brilliant. Sits perfectly :)

Cheers guys I am very pleased with how shes turned out. I must say I am hoping that the back drops just a fraction more... Or those adjusters are coming out!

The spacers worked perfectly, 20mm on the back and 15mm on the front.

Very pleased :)

Sunday update;

Thursday she got an oil change and the 312mm brake setup I got from egay for £130 for the whole kit. Quite impressed by the stopping power she has now. Quite cool how she stops so quickly, nose down and tail skipping. Also nice to know I have a little more performance when it comes to needed them.

You may have seen that i put her on the dyno yesterday at AmD with a pleasant result of 170 bhp and 300 lb/ft.

Had to wind up the coilovers to get her on the rollers which was no hassle thanks to the amount of copper grease I slapped on them!

winding them down gave me a chance to try something new so shes now 8 threads up on the from and ive taken the anodised blue collars out of the rear. It looks great tbh. So much for not slamming her!

Going to wash her shortly, just a rinse and i clayed and polished her last week. I'll put some pictures up. Cheers.

Have I seriously not updated this in almost a year?? I'm disgusted at myself! Although my thread was never going to be as adventurous as other peoples.

Ok I'll sum up whats happened in the last year..

Not much!

I have switched between wheels and lowered her and raised her and fettled the tracking a little.

Today, I took her out of winter mode and put the comps back on, lowered her some moar and fitted my rather large K&N cone filter.

So a couple of new items are the K&N cone and I also have a powerflex lower dog-bone bush.

Sorry for the writing and no pictures. Tomorrow I plan on giving her a wash and polish. Then i'll get some nice piccies to share.

Cheers.
