Ibanez JEM 555w

Featured Replies

Hey Everyone,

I have here for sale my Ibanez JEM 555. I have owned it for since it was built and it has been the best guitar I have ever owned!

It has 24 jumbo frets and has a "tree of life" inlay from the 3rd to the 12th fret. And also a "Steve Vai" inlay on the 24th fret. The neck is maple wood, and the fretboard is Rosewood with a vine inlay. It has a solid top. The body is American Basswood. Equipped with EdgePro III double locking trem (Floyd Rose). Equipped also with 3 DiMarzio Evolution passive pickups (H/S/H). It has a Gotoh type of tuners with a locking nut.

More info -

DiMarzio® Evolution®

Steve Vai's Signature JEM555 features DiMarzio® Evolution® humbuckers in the bridge and neck positions and a DiMarzio® Evolution® single coil in the middle position for a wide array of rock tones.

Edge III (JEM555)

JEM555 models have the Edge III trem which offers a similar feel and design to the famous, original Edge trems but with lower profile tuners for greater right-hand comfort.

Monkey Grip (JEM555)

One of the most recognizable features on the fantastic JEM555: Steve Vai's signature monkey grip. Crank your amp up, grab that baby and hold on for dear life.

info can be found here - http://www.ibanez.co.jp/products/eg_page13.php?area_id=3&data_id=55&color=CL01&year=2013&cat_id=1&series_id=171

The guitar will require setting up which should cost up to £50 with a professional, and I have a new set of Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky Strings to go on.

Unfortunately there is one tiny dent on the paintwork about 3-4mm across and is not obvious (see pictures)

Guitar hasn't left the case in far too long and deserves to go to a new home as it just isn't played enough. It has been thoroughly looked after and was only ever used for practise and in-studio recording.

Depending on where you are coming from, I may be able to meet you somewhere local..

I am wanting around £575 £500 including the case but I am happily open to offers.
The guitar will come with hard-case featured in photo's. I will include a small marshall amp and jack cable for the right price.

I can also include a Electro Harmonix Metal Muff effects pedal, which is the first generation version of the pedal which is rather difficult to get hold of and provides a flawless sound!

Cash on collection please.

Please feel free to PM me if you have any queries!

I'm tempted just to look at it. I can't play at all but that's lovely!

Thank you buddy :) She is my baby but I have barely played it at all in the last year and just can't justify it being left in the case with no one to play it.. Kinda hoping it will go to a good home

Bump Price Drop

Lovely guitar but I already have 5 guitars of my own.

What's the deal with the pedal?

Would you sell separate?

And what sort of price?

Thanks.

Oh nice, what d'ya have?

I have another 4 too!

Sorry buddy, do you mean buy the pedal separately, or the guitar?

Thanks :)

I meant the pedal, my other half wouldn't let me have another guitar.

I have

Alvarez Dana Scoop, fully active with modulus graphite neck. (Quite a rare guitar)

And a cheapo no brand acoustic bought at a boot sale with gut strings

No pic of that I'm afraid.  All these are internet pics, not of my actual guitars.

Getting back on topic, I was just interested in the pedal, just as a novelty really.

I usually use a BOSS Metal Zone pedal but its a bit edgy and was looking for something a bit

fuzzier to play the Godin through.

Nice collection!

I currently have this Ibanez JEM 555wh, a Yamaha AES 820 (also for sale on here), a Tanglewood TW45 AN, an Alhambra 10P, and my latest Ibanez with custom body (forget model number). After owning this guitar for many years, I have loved every second of it.. although I just don't play it anymore, but I am craving the full Ibanez JEM 7V7-WH Steve Vai experience.. just not having the funds atm with both car and uni.. so that's the hope for post-uni

Anyway.. I'm happy to sell the pedal to you separately, I'll take a few photos of it tonight and post them up. It is the first edition pedal. I'll PM you later.
