Glow Plug light / loose connection to ECU?

Recommended Posts

My car is out of warranty in a couple of weeks.  It was at Skoda Platinum today following a glow plug warning light, that has happened 3 times in the last few months - always when in gear going downhill with the engine under braking.

Skoda had the car for a few hours, and advised that they couldn't find a fault, but noted that one of the plugs going to the ECU wasn't properly connected.  I've taken the car away, and was told to expect a call from the dealership as I had concerns that if the fault reoccured, it wasn't going to be covered by my warranty despite the fault being found before the end of warranty.  I didn't get a call.

I'm curious if anyone else has had similar symptoms that have been cured by loose connections being sorted?

Thanks goneoffSKi, but It's not the brakes - am aware of that issue.  I changed the bulbs / cleaned connectors on the off chance one of them had a fault - no joy.

If it's flashing it your brakes if it on constantly it's a glow plug fault.

Its some sort of fault, probably electrical but unlikely to be a glow plug fault. The light doubles as the CEL.
