Fabia II 1.6 TDi 75HP shaking

Hello there.

 

First off all great forum you got here. 

 

 

i have a nice problem with my Fabia 2011 tdi.   I got it in november last year, and shortly after that i noticed that the engine is shaking at lower speed, such as 50km/h. The problem ocurs at smaller rpm when i just want to drive at the same speed (3rd, 4th, 5th gear).  I had it checked , but comp didnt show any errors.  Some google searches tell it's possible EGR, some say it's injector.

 

But the thing is, that the problem is not always there, in the  winter some days it's running without any problem, and then the next day it's crap. Fuel consumation is rocketing up as hell when that is happening

 

Now is summer time, car is running much better, almost without any problems. I can run 100km with 4 liter diesel easy. But when the temp. drops under 15°C i feel the problem again. Sometimes in heat as well, but like i said, much less than in winter and rainy days.

 

 

What coud be the problem? and how to solve it? is there any tester that can do a complete scan, even in details?

I suspect you have the same 'issue' as my wife's 1.6TDI 105. We have recently purchased this, and shortly afterwards is was juddering at low speeds/revs, and smoking slightly - although this seemed to clear by itself soon after. Had it to the dealer (as it needed a service anyway) and they checked everything, inc. EGR for water leaks, water pump, injectors, etc. and found nothing.

 

After reading up on the DPF and how to tell it's trying to regen, I have since noticed that it only seems to do this when the DPF is trying to do a regen (while town driving) - tick over speed goes up to around 1000k and you can almost 'smell' the heat - plus wings/side of bonnet get extremely warm - also the noticably higher fuel comsumption! After a run the tick over returns to normal and the juddering stops. I suspect the issue is 'worse' in winter as the car will take longer to warm up?

 

This is my experience at least. Hope this helps.

Might be possible as well. My problems dont start always when i start driving. it can hapend that i drive 15-20km without any symptoms, and then bam, from nowhere it's starting to shake the engine, and i need more power to run the engine at the same speed. when i press gas pedal more(to the end), i have no problems, car is accelerating normaly, well almost.

 

how can i check that? just service and clean?

clues to regen are

 

when you stop at lights / junction etc

 

idle speed will be >1000 rpm

fan will be running high speed

a lot of heat from engine if you get out of car

funny rubbery smell from car if you get out

 

normally happens about every 150-200 miles

 

if happening a lot more often it may be worth getting he car checked as the sensors are known to fail on the DPF or there are a couple of instances on here an injector fails causing the DPF to fill with soot but both of these usually bring up the error lights on the dashboard

Hey, recently i had my big service, changed everything( all filters, had egr cleaned, injectors, cleaned and checked, everything ok

 

My problem occurs mostly at temp lower that 15C, above that i have no problems,

 

About the DPF - no errors, and my service said it would be hard the error, since i rarely make less than 100km in one drive, so enuff time to regen.

 

 

 

At my last stop at skodaservice we finaly found a fault on the comp. testing.  It shows an error P290 - vent for dosage of fuel (not sure if i translated it right)

 

 

My ? is how to solve that, just replace the valve (130€), or what else.....not really in the mood to pay something, and no affect.

the error code you have provided seems to refer to a dirty injector or cam shaft sensor,

 

do you have a bill with a part number they replaced

i didn't replace any parts. But since inectors are checked, and confirmed ok, but everyone else is saying it's a high chance for injector fault.

 

And that error is supose to be a valve on the pump.
