will a bnv engine still work in a fabia which has an engine code of bms

Recommended Posts

i have a 2009 skoda fabia which is a 3 cylinder 1.4 tdi ,,,  it is making a really loud noise when accelerating timing belt has been change as for the clutch and the flywheel. I've been told it is a crank related issue. i have decided to just get another engine my engine code is bms but i cant find a decent priced one however the engine code which is bnv is a lot cheaper and it is pretty much the same engine from what i can see. same 1.4 3 cylinder  80hp engine. does anyone know if this engine will work fine in mine or is there a difference between the 2. please help

These engines are from eBay the bms engine are all around 1500 the bms I can get the bnv for 600... I was just wondering if the bnv still work fine in my car or is there a difference between the 2 as I can go to scrapyards and find this engine
