  1. Is it best to remove old filter, run cleaning and then install new one? Or can new one go in first?
  2. Thanks both. Still in preparation for next weekend. In practice how easy is it to remove/replace glovebox? Looks tricky releasing left side latch without popping off side panel near passenger door
  3. Hi all. Need to clean/disinfect air conditioning. Where on floor is best place to set it off please? I understand that AC needs to be on and in Recirc mode but unsure on which side of car the recirc intake is. Many thanks !
  4. My touchscreen OK but top 3 elements of heated rear window seem not to work. Mine is 65 reg.
  5. I have a 2.0 TDI 140 (non-CR) and my company policy is based now on whole life cost including mpg CO2 etc. In that policy can now have a 320 efficient Dynamics (just) in my WLC allowance ( a 28K car) but not a 140 Superb SE (only have S trim , unless I drop to 1.6 ) Even then the Co2 is quite high (143 ish ?) compared with 140TDI passat (126) Octavia (126) and Golf (as low as 114 for 140 TDI with BMT ). Not sure why Octavia has the "new" VW 140 TDI setup but Superb does not. I will sadly be changing to either the Golf or 320 later this year as even the 320 is £10 per month less tax than current car and the Golf Match loaded with extras is about £20 a month less. Shame really. Still, at least while I had it I brought some colleagues around to getting a Superb this time instead of their large Volvos etc - personally I am looking for less tax and more mpg this time round.
  6. That would be nice - to get the current VW Bluemotion-type 2.0CR Diesel engine in and drop the tax/up the mpg. I am still not convinced the 1.6CR would be lively enough in such a big car for when a bit of grunt is needed and worry about the real life mpg when not driven all the time with an egg between foot and accelerator pedal!
  7. I see the 6303 has up to 2000 contacts storable (I use only 139) - could that be upsetting the GSM system which i think only supports 1000 ? Even if I only use <200 of the possible contacts ?
  8. After 2 years of fault free use of Nokia 6300 with my Bolero/GSM3 kit, I was given a 6303ci. I put in my old SIM and it connects happily - handset goes into remote SIM mode and GSM3 downloads the phonebook OK but it does not remember the phonebook. As soon as I move away from the phonebook list page in the maxidot display, and go back, it is empty. In fact it shows [-1] entries! It all works fine apart from that. I deleted the profile and started again - same problem. Deleted profile again and put sim back in my old phone - works perfectly and remembers phonebook fine, so seems to be an issue with the phone. Anyone come across this and found out how to fix it? It seems quite bizarre. I can't see anything obviously amiss in phone bluetooth settings - I guess there cant be much wrong as it connects and works. Thanks in advance for any guidance - I see that others have got the 6303 working Ok but with a Columbus system - should the audio part make a difference ?
  9. Thanks Coops !! My PD140 is up to 36K now and I dont often do a brim to brim actual mpg check. Long term the old maxidot says I get about 48 from mostly local-ish journeys with occasional motorway trek. Best indicated mpg on a long run i got was 60 at indicated 74 mph to Cumbria. Usual for that run is 53-57 dep on traffic (I guess). the 140PS Bluemotion Passat looks attractive as a good compromise between CO2 rating and available oomph - wonder if that engine and technology will come to Superb sometime in next year or so .....Audi & VW CO2 starting to leave Skoda behind but hopefully we will catch up sometime. Still interested in drivability and real economy of a Greenline 2, if anyone out there has switched from a 140 ps VAG car to the Greenline II.
  10. Hi Superbs used to have a sticker in the spare wheel well with colour codes and build info on it. On Superb I there were two 1.9 powers....105 and 130 PS. These were shown in kW as ...IIRC...77 or 95 kW Current Skoda literature will have the KW for both 140CR and 170CR- I estimate they will be 103 and 125 KW respectively. Maybe a current combi owner can tell you where the sticker will be and how the kW is displayed - IIRC it is in plain language as 103kW etc etc. Good luck!
  11. I appreciate skocar120 has switched into the Superb range and I am sure you won't regret it for a moment - I love mine Has anyone made the switch from a 140 PS diesel to the 1.6CR diesel Greenline II? I know the power and torque will be down but is there still enough oomph (compared to the 140)that it won't feel dangerous trying to drag past slower traffic on long single carriageways ? In the 140 it feels very safe as the power feeds in quickly Also interested in the comparative fuel economy in similar circumstances of those who have switched Considering the Greenline next time around as a company car (tax and economy reasons) and wondering how I would find the switch . Details of any experiences welcome
  12. Me neither - they all seem to work this way - even in USA where I have driven all kinds of makes and models with cruise - over there though you get a bit more oomph when you press + !!! If I really have forgotten and want to see what my cruise is set to , I take foot off accelerator and look at speedo - but i have never forgotten
  13. I too have a 2.0 PD140 on a 58 plate and also 32k miles. Only troubles I've had were a blocked aircon drain (smell!) and an airbag warning light fault. No experience of the CR140 - is the fuel economy better ?? I average 47/48 mpg over a long period with mixed motorway/urban journeys
  14. Mine have been in almost nothing but Auto mode for nearly 2 years now - apart from in fog when it never gets gloomy enough to turn them on before i get scared of not being seen !
