I swapped out the original sterio for an aftermarket one on my 2008 golf sportline. The soubd wasn't anywhere near as good as the original unit, I guess they don't have the same output power

Possible egr. I've had 2 earlier 2.0tdi vags which have done the same. If yours has the egr at the front of the engine, could try giving it a clean

oil change 05 plate Octavia 4x4 estate

I'm sorry you've waited this long for a reply. I think the mk2 forum is slowly dying. Flush are good if they have been used pretty much continuously over the years. internal sludge build up could be masking the seriousness of the oil leak, so adding a flush could make the leak worse. However, flushes are good for cleaning sludge and deposits, freeing up the piston rings etc -
Engine squeak when someone sits in or on car
BobIzYaUncle replied to hackettdog's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
I'm blown away 🤣 never known anything like it. I have no clue as to why the engine would make a noise due to more weight on the vehicle! Needs looking at properly mate -
Is it a Bose system? I'm sure the Bose systems operated with an amplifier so that could be at fault It's too coincidental for both to stop working at same time for it to be the speakers or door wiring at fault. So my guess is sterio or amp

Any idea what this noise is?
BobIzYaUncle replied to Sinbad1900's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
That noise could be DMF as Rac have stated. Next time it does it, depress the clutch see if it changes -

Strong diesel exhaust fume smell Octavia 2.0 vrs

Anybody able to shed some light on this. Looking through the service history the timing belt was changed a couple years ago. If the timing is out, could it be giving me these symptoms? I have tried several different fuels from tesco / sainburys / morrisons / shell and shell v power. It runs best on shell ordinary diesel but still feels there is a flat spot, 1st gear is awefull for pull off feeling very underpowered Sent from my GT-I9505 using Tapatalk -
Wheel alignment . . does this seem right?
BobIzYaUncle replied to BobIzYaUncle's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk II (2004 - 2013)
Think I might even go down this route to be honest. Can't express how angry I feel. We put our trust into these garages and they just rob us blind. It was part of a price match issue, I wasnt able to fetch the car back from f1 when it was finished so had a friend go to pay and collect my key then I picked the car up in the evening. They lectured her about how much they lost on the tyres! she was only paying the bill for me, they didn't have to price match. Just who do they think they are [emoji35] Rant over Sent from my UMI TOUCH using Tapatalk -
Wheel alignment . . does this seem right?

Not the best pleased. I've come away on holiday and had to go to a local Kwik fit to have the alignment checked. My suspicions were correct, the alignment hasn't been done as the bolts are seized to the bushes. So formula one have claimed they have done it when they were unable to and still charged me 50quid for doing nothing. Kwik fit were also unable to do the alignment but at least they were honest. So seems a letter to formula one head office and some polybushes for the rears [emoji20] -
Excellent. Thanks guys Sent from my UMI TOUCH using Tapatalk

Hi all, I've got some now wheels for Octavia and getting them wrapped with some new rubber this weekend. Just a thought, I currently have tyre pressure monitoring system so my current standard wheels have the sensors. They don't look to be the bolt in valve type. Will they be exchangeable to my new wheels? If not, what can I do to keep the light off. Thanks Sent from my UMI TOUCH using Tapatalk

Strong diesel exhaust fume smell Octavia 2.0 vrs
BobIzYaUncle replied to BobIzYaUncle's topic in Diagnostics & VCDS
OK, cleaned the egr and asv not really that bad. It has made idling better but the bad smell from exhaust is still there. I've noticed it produces a steam like smoke from the exhaust. I'm wondering if its overfueling slightly. Does anybody know I'd theres an ecu update available from Skoda? I'm thinking it may be trying to constantly regenerate the dpf although im not showing any faults. Sent from my UMI TOUCH using Tapatalk -

No sign of exhaust leaking. And Ive no reason to think it hasn't dpf. Yesterday it had a right wobble. When got bk home from work, left it ideling on drive way it the exhaust was making a sputter sound. Almost like a definate misfire. Lifted the bonnet and noticed the breather on the can cover to the intake hose was off. Pushed it back on but its not a good fit. Its been better today so I've ordered a new hose and the gaskets and seals to clean the egr, asv and throttle body. Next on the list is fuel filterSent from my UMI TOUCH using Tapatalk
