  1. should fit under the rear (I've had 17x8 ET35) Under the front it will poke out around 20mm If you want to run 8.5" without poke you need ET50
  2. Try Alba European in Moorooka. He's a really good diagnostician. My guess is either the PCV or separation of the rocker cover labrynth. Possibly oil control rings gummed up
  3. If it's the reusable casing with replaceable filter then the plastic casing has probably hardened & cracked. It's fairly common. you can buy replacement plastic casings or aluminium ones. Why would you remove the radiator? At worst the fans would come out but I've never heard of that being needed.
  4. I DIY'd the rear quarter panels, boot floor, spare wheel well and under the rear seat. It took a day including faffing about drinking beer, etc. It made a big enough difference that the noise from the front wheel arches became quite obvious. I wouldn't pay someone to do it unless you are really cashed up.
  5. What are the front & rear settings it is on? Without some data it's impossible to say.
  6. Yes they fit. I have a 2007 1.8tsi Elegance M6 Hatch. It has the following suspension parts: Golf GTI rear sway bar Audi S3 Alloy lower Control Arms and bushes Eibach Springs for an Octavia wagon Koni Yellows for a Golf GTI It works really well.
  7. The hub carriers are ferrous. If you want alloy you need to fit Passat/Superb units. AudiTT Units also fit but require some additional parts. If you google the same swap for a Golf GTi you'll get the full information.
  8. IIRC it's an M6x10. I just used a standard hex head with washers out of my "these might come in handy one day" can of fasteners. that ebay listing doesn't look right
  9. It's probably worn out or the previous owner has broken it. It's an old car now... I doubt it's heat as I'm down in Sydney, AU and my car has been parked on the street for half its life. It regularly sees 40c ambient and 50c cabin temps. The dash / top box is doing OK unlike many other parts of the car.
  10. What actually self-adjusted? All the self-adjusting clutches I have dealt with "adjust" at the slave cylinder. Have you bled it up at the master cylinder? Is that bleeder pulling fluid through th esystem or pushing it back towards the slave?
  11. Tyres Has someone rotated them front to rear recently? How worn are they? photos?
  12. look here https://skoda.7zap.com/en/cz/ All the diagrams I've looked at for the diesel have the turbo integrated with the exhaust manifold
  13. you are correct. BZB should be manual only. The gen 2 got the 7sp DSG and they are poo
  14. Is the BWA the EA113 block? That was only in the early (preFL??) Octavia. If it's an EA113 then do the fuel pump follower every 45-60k If it's the EA888 (far more common) then the fuel pump follower is generally good but the cam chain tensioner is problematic.
  15. It's not the chain it's the tensioner. But while your in there...
