Looks like everyone with one is a happy bunny! Another question if I may, is getting the upgraded sound system pretty much just a L&K feature or do quite a lot of Superb's have this?

Many thanks for the above replies and info. Genuinely appreciated. if can ask another question being that they’re quite a big heavy car, how are they on suspension components wearing out? Following on re the DSG am I right the DSG really must be serviced? I’m asking some of this because on price it’d more than likely be a car with some miles on it.

Thanks for your input. Is reliability pretty good overall? How about the DSG's, is it a 7 speed DSG?

I’m looking to replace my (second) Mk1 Fabia estate for ULEZ reasons. I’m drawn to another Fabia but in the past have had bigger cars like 7 Series so I’d adjust to the Superb size. I really like the dash/interior. The performance I see is fantastic for a big car with the high output 2.0 petrol. I guess the engine is like a slightly detuned Golf R. Thoughts on a used petrol Superb with DSG/4x4, especially with a few miles on it. Quite good used proposition or a potential liability?! Thanks- Is this a special edition of some kind
Aha I didn’t see the pictures further down. Odd choice showing black cars. Doesn’t exactly accentuate the black bits!- Is this a special edition of some kind
It’s just an SE 1.6 TDI. Funnily enough I thought the grill ought to be black if a blacked out model. I suppose the grill might’ve been changed due to damage or whatever. I quite like the look of it but I’m a bit on the fence with the 79k miles. I’d probably prefer a bit lower because I’m willing to spend a bit to replace my Mk1 TDI estate. In many ways would like another Fabia but it’s a great pity mostly only wheezy engines in recent years, and no VRS.- Is this a special edition of some kind
Thanks. Black pack available then? I'm certainly not an expert (and what you're saying sounds right) but I thought possibly only available for facelift cars.- Is this a special edition of some kind
As much as anything I was just interested to know. It's coming up at auction a 2016 1.6 TDI 110 SE. Looking to replace my Fabia TDI with something. This car has 79000 miles so probably a bit higher than I'd like. As I say, was just interested to know re the wheels and black trim. Interior looks bog standard. TIA- Looking at Mk3 fabia estates probably monte carlo
Thanks What's the position on remapping a 95 safely?- Looking at Mk3 fabia estates probably monte carlo
Thanks v much for the replies. Much appreciated. Particularly to nta16 for sharing his overall view of the car. I’d agree the mk1’s do seem like survivors compared especially to Mk2’s.. I’ve a lot of reluctance to go so new with all the computerisation but the hope would be a good overall longer term ownership experience. i imagine I’m correct in saying the same applies to a Monte Carlo re the smaller brakes on a 95bhp. Also imagine I’m correct about them being all cosmetic etc regarding differences. one serious gripe I have with the newer car (VAG generally it seems) is lack of seat heating. My mk1 Elegance has ‘em and I like them!! Can see me fitting aftermarket seat heating.- Looking at Mk3 fabia estates probably monte carlo
Hi folks, I've had two mk1 fabia estates (10+ years now). Current one a 1.9 TDi Elegance. ULEZ starting in Edinburgh so I must change it. I've driven a low mileage 2019 110 monte carlo manual and while short on low down torque compared to my diesel, it seems to go fairly nicely. I think I'd quite like one. I see there are quite a lot of 95BHP's. Are there any good attributes to one or is a 110 going to be much better? Perhaps I could remap a 95 ok? I think I'm right the 110's have a 6 speed rather than a 5, is that right? Is a manual 5 not so good with the TSI? If I'm spending £10k plus I should maybe consider a DSG. Would a DSG be better with a 95? Ride comfort seems excellent (almost surprisingly really, really good- better than I expected for a newish VAG group car) but while I like that aspect it almost feels like it could do with being a bit more taught. I just searched for uprated anti roll bars but it doesn't look like they exist. Pity. Had good results a couple of times in the past with them. There's mention of eibach springs with bilstein B8's I see, but this sounds like it could ruin the suppleness! Am I right a monte carlo is basically all cosmetic? It's interior/wheels/styling etc, nothing mechanical or suspension? Anyone's experience or advice welcome. Thanks- Getting a DAB system into a 2011 Yeti
Thanks. If I buy it I guess I should check the unit for a DAB antenna input- Getting a DAB system into a 2011 Yeti
Hi folks, I'm looking to replace my TDI Fabia with a petrol car for Edinburgh ULEZ purposes A 2011 low mileage 1.2 TSI Yeti has come up. I see it has an Amundsen unit. I really like listening to a couple of DAB only radio stations. I don't particularly want a DAB "add on" unit, I'd prefer something all in one. What would be the most cost effective solution and is there going to be issues if removing the Amundsen out of the equation? BTW the car is an Elegance (2011) but I imagine I'm right in saying it won't have DAB. Even if it maybe did (sounds not impossible from my reading up) it wouldn't be DAB+. I had an S Class Mercedes earlier this year that was a 2011 and it's DAB channel selection was hugely limited because of this. Thanks- Bad coolant leak at entrance to heater box 2006 1.9TDI
I got the issue fixed (I think.. so far so good tonight) with two new O rings at the entry to the heater box. Local dealer had them at a crazy £11. Through identical experience to others it seems easy to not get the fit/seal right which is odd as it looks simple. I guess it’s the poor design of having to fit both somewhat loose pipes, then getting the tightening of the securing collar done. I was super careful and didn’t expect an issue but coolant poured out! I’m on re-doing it a third time I could see the pipes were seated further in. still finding it odd this evening understanding what was wrong exactly the first time. for benefit of others -it’s best done from above rather than trying from underneath -make sure you’ve a tool for the spring hose clamps -make some room for yourself by getting a couple of hoses out of the way. -I think from my experience today that you’ll suddenly find the 6mm hex going very tight very quickly when the pipes and seals are seated right.- Bad coolant leak at entrance to heater box 2006 1.9TDI
Hi do you mean to do a bypass or fix the O rings (if it is failed O rings)?- Bad coolant leak at entrance to heater box 2006 1.9TDI
Oh, also wanted to ask if it's easy to bypass as a temporary measure?- Bad coolant leak at entrance to heater box 2006 1.9TDI
Dear all, Again hugely grateful for the help I've been given on this site over the years with my Mk1 Fabia estates. Is it quite likely just a burst O ring where my metal coolant pipes enter thru the bulkhead into the heater? Sudden bad leak from here today . I was of course worried the heater box had split or something. It looks quite awkward to access but I'll try and have a look at it tomorrow so looking for any tips/advice. Thanks- Leaky power steering hose question
Many thanks guys. Yes that Autodoc one certainly looks like it's the one, cheers Planning to pull the battery tray next day or two to check my fluid level. See how much has been lost so far. I should get some fluid to top it up while I'm at it.- Leaky power steering hose question
No it’s definitely p/s fluid. I spent ages hunting for a leak from above the pipe. Was completely puzzled until I pulled back the factory hard plastic sleeve that covers the hose part- it was wet inside the sleeve.- Leaky power steering hose question
Anyone help me confirm what I need? I think this might be the one I need. Though I don’t necessarily think mine doubles back on itself like this seems to. ://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/313561475061?fits=Plat_Gen%3AMK+I|Model%3AFabia&epid=27047060261&hash=item4901b867f5:g:MJcAAOSwbeZgwkyu&amdata=enc%3AAQAHAAAA8Gh4n3EwyQLAhlJoU%2FA4Bf6j4Gf9XLWNkOeaee1hSkE%2F4elYOvHoWxPqC5WwBOeJXoJhe7VIduEe2l0FHa4DHtdZSPaC9%2FdMBNrKskxQWJ92PizQyoJxNqIviGur0%2FnCOgEUvXJwG%2FUpHcbJdv0JTZ%2FX721l%2BQG5oKodErE7owHzSfOyCGAAybzm3ecOOWKXNQ%2FRcGST2%2FAgI%2Fa30AoOCdTjID%2BXC5ji6qNI%2Fg%2FHV1skjRGTu6Njrx9GjwKuXCz4pNT86Wf2K8RKPfcwHUMgYogl9p1V7iGy8MOCDGFT31cl4kDuZYInqQieFwZfuqfvVg%3D%3D|tkp%3ABFBM7rKJ9tph- Leaky power steering hose question
Firstly, I’m eternally grateful for those here helping out when I’ve posted. You’ve helped me keep up the two Mk1 Fabia estates I’ve had. Really much appreciated. While servicing my 2006 1.9 TDI on Thursday I saw it was damp on the front crossmember just behind the undertray. Traced it to a power steering pipe. I see it looks like there are lowish priced replacements. Poor pictures I know, but can anyone tell me what pipe it is? I’m guessing it’s probably the “high pressure” pipe? Perhaps it’s a common one to leak.. Lying on my back with my head underneath the passenger footwell, looking up and forward, I saw a plastic protective shroud covering a fabric thicker part of the hydraulic pipe. I could see where it went on to the reservoir too. I think it’s weeping where I’ve pictured. Seems like it might not be too difficult to replace? I could see both ends of the pipe. I see you’ve to remove the battery etc to get to the p/s reservoir. hope the pics a slight help to tell me what pipe I need. TIA- Turning off Parking Sensors
I know this is an old thread but to answer what seemed to go unanswered, the speaker/ bleeper is accessed by removing the front centre interior light assembly (lens alone unclips then two screws let you remove the housing- it’s quite snug and almost clipped into the headliner too). There is both a flat little square black box to the rear of the housing (I hazard a guess it’s the sensor for the remote locking) and off to the passenger side a little is the speaker for the parking sensors. Mine being an Elegance fabia 1. I don’t know if it is also a warning buzzer for anything else. My parking sensors gave up over the weekend and indeed the bleep telling you all isn’t well is loud and annoying when you select reverse.- 2017 models do they all have DAB? Ex MOD estates coming up at auction
They’re trade only these days too and you can’t even view the cars. Have to rely on condition reports. All auctions are still fully only online too because you can’t attend a site which is a menace. Half the cars being we buy any car .com ones, I suppose they’re happy with it being trade only as are the trade. I’ve a friend that can bid for me. Thanks for above re battery power - Thoughts on Superb 4x4 280
