  1. if no leaks outside, then it's obviously inside. a good workshop will tell you exactly what is wrong without asking for an arm and a leg. if head gasket is bad, borrow a toolbox and a torque wrench and diy. if head / block is cracked, sell the car.
  2. @jonnycilia other than asking for our opinion, what have you done to try to determine the source of the noise? also you fail giving us details on prior related repairs and that is not helping you. for somebody concerned about a car issue we pull out information from you with a plier... the less information you share, the worse replies you get. so far it can be anything from brake pads and wobbling brake disc to a noisy cv joint.
  3. unless you forgot to torque some wheel studs, it's rim/tyre related. maybe a cv joint.
  4. the springs are not broken. when the weight of the car is off the spring, there is no movement, no groaning. only when the car is standing on its wheels, I steer left all the way then I begin steering to the right. the noise became more evident after I changed the upper 'donut' bushings and bearings (position 9 and 7 on the figure).
  5. 200,000 miles with same coolant pump?? call guiness book of all records. meanwhile try to locate better the noise using a long screwdriver as a cheap stethoscope. or post a video of the engine running and we'll help.
  6. by the way, I would like to ask: is it normal for front suspension springs to slip in lower steel tray? mine do this twisting 4-5 mm movement when steering till eventually hit the stop raised thing.
  7. Better Let A Professional Do It. You Can Try DIY But You'll End Saying Like Me No Matter If Anyone Will Post REALLY Relevant, Annotated Photos (Which I Doubt Very Much)
  8. take one single photo with all parts you've got arranged in such way that I can draw on it the wiring for you.
  9. there is no other fuel filter besides the 'cup' you mentioned. there is a strainer inside the fuel tank. there is a small strainer inside the inlet pipe of the carburetor. that's all.
  10. you bought an OBD II scanner for an OBD I car (Felicia)... Felicia wiring on one sheet... that doesn't exist. all Skoda Felicia up to 2001 factory wiring diagrams in English - you can get them if you ask a fellow UK citizen in private.
  11. had for some time this 'groans' noise (like rusty hinges on a barn door) coming from suspension area each time I had to steer in place or at very low speed. the noise came and went but it was louder after a rain. I read all topics related on this forum and it seemed it is a lower ball joint job. but people described the noise more like a knock... I have a visiting pit and I tried to locate the noise using a stethoscope for mechanics while a friend steered slowly from one end to the other. but the noise intensity was almost the same in every place I listened (steering mechanism and suspension) some people said they couldn't find any solution and gave up. in desperation I changed a lower ball joint hoping to get an improvement. to my surprise, the noise remained alive & well ' then I poured some engine oil in the 'tray' tha holds the spring. SOLVED.
  12. for those in the know, what code has that 'connection' on Felicia wiring diagrams?
  13. is that yarn of red wires covered with a durex part of the original wiring loom???
  14. the most common cause for hard shifting the gears is too much play in gear shifting lever mechanism. I've seen some even bent from rocks. not solving the cause will cause major damage inside gearbox.
  15. we're talking about this colour, right? if so, in my catalog is code 9590.
  16. GREEN DARK METALLIC: Mixing Code = 9590 GREEN EMERALD (FOREST) METALLIC: Mixing Code = 9595, SKODA Code = 1L1L
  17. the alloys look like coming from a locomotive in Disney amusement park.
  18. for the sake of truth here is the corrosion protection technology for Felicia. this is page 8 I translated from Self Study Program 005 Skoda Felicia - Konstruktion und Funktion
  19. we have good eyesight thank you, so no need for big fonts. as for your question, all aftermarket kits that are not designed specifically for Skoda Felicia will have poor manuals. so best thing is to post whatever documentation you have from them and to specify the year/month of fabrication of your car. we'll figure it out where to connect all wires.
  20. how about using standard technical names for parts so we all understand? 'header tank' ??? the best I could think of is headlights washer tank. to all members: please don't use truncated, shorted, diminutives or other part names from the urban dictionary.
  21. in my country it is mandatory for garages to either: - allow customers watch (with the mouth shut preferably) the repair of their car - watch on CCTV the repair of their car from the waiting room or online so my question is: do you have any idea (aka seen it) what those greasemonkeys did to your clutch? did they really change all used parts? how did they have the nerve to claim it's not their fault for what happened post "repair"? from your description they are crooks and ignorants. the brute type that get a bigger hammer if parts don't fit.
