help please.. overheating car, no heating.. driving me nuts
fletch101 replied to Emsy's topic in Skoda Fabia Mk I (1999-2007)
it could be a crack in some part of the water galleries aswell. as metal heats up it will expabd and cracks will open just enough -
each to their own. but its a gamble to buy a car hoping the parts that you need are ok. then there is the effort of taking the clutch out. and braking it for parts. assuming you have space and by the time you put that much time into it you might as well have chucked the clutch and flywheel in yourself and saved garage labour. with clutches and why wheels. the effort of removing them its best to spend the extra. buy new and be done even if you put the clutch amd flywheel in it and get rid of it. as a healthy running motor. worth more
-
why do an engine transplant to fit a secondhand clutch and flywheel which may fail a couple thousand mile later (or could already be slipping). clutch and fly in and away you go
-
I wouldn't be. cant say you've not got your moneys worth hahaha say you spend a grand fixing it (which it wont cost that much) its cost you 0.004pence a mile haha
-
below 60 on you spedo os about 55 at most in real.. I bet everything was overtaking you.and you was slowest on road (presuming it was on a motorway) bet you was popular

dont forget to add a nice little fues to your perminant live on your relay. or you might end up with more of a glow than you expect one day dont know why but its shoxking the amount of relay related duck ups and bodge jobs you see in cars -

I used it on my fiat stilo 1.4 and was on 170000 miles and still running smooth and quiet. also saved my gearbox at 95k and still ok at 170000. use it on my fabia vrs too. gor rid of my tapety noise. wouldnt belive in mpg part really. just better for lubricanting -

hsve you got your multimeter set on right setting ? if its on ac it will show about that reading. not that ive ever done that exact thing edit: ive just noticed your last post. my bad -
Take note of a fabia of same year and write down their reg
-
a car will still run with boost pipes gone and also fabias dont create clouds of black smoke with intercooler pipe off.(mine dosnt)
-
when revving and not under load the turbo will not be under and load and hardly creates any boost. making it hard for ne me to believe it went fron just moving aroubd yard or testing. its more likely to be thrashed down the road to see what it goes like or to do a butty run. as a mechanics gotta eat

handbrake firmly on then locate the grove of your jack along the sill. jack at the right point and you can list yoyr front and rear wheel up at the same time. I recommend have a wheel of something sturdy under the sill at all times so you cant drop the cae on yourself -
'gentle persuasion" should sort it out dan. thats all ive ever done for exhausts

seen yu going southbound about 6:45am . HID's I was in a works van going the other way

I have it on mine and all doors lock. maybe its a computer job to adjust

mine does this randomly everynow and then and goes on long drives. comsa back if its been stood a few days (which dosnt happen often lol) I put active x in my oil and give it a ran. not clme back since touch wood but I think new cam and injectors are soon on my list. unless I get a new car.
