Here's mine... taken with the phone as my digi camera has broke ! and not as clean as usual. Engine bay is back to normal "shiney" standards as is the rest of the car. I'm gutted to be honest cause i have a company car on the way and my vRS went in the Trader today...

i'm not up on my German but dont the credits say something about the UK and diesel? i know there is a rumour about a diesel Octy vRS

Got to big up AutoSales Bilston again... I've been experiencing intermittent gear selection problems for a while. I had notified the dealer and after they changed the clutch and flywheel under warranty the problem did seem to be improved. That was until 3 weeks ago when i came to shift into 2nd for an island and couldnt get any gear apart from 3rd! I called AutoSales and spoke to the service manager there who agreed to speak to customer services to determine whether Skoda UK would cover the cost of invesigative work to determine the fault. They agreed so the car was booked in. 2 weeks later and after changing the thrush bearing for 1st and 5th along with other bits n bobs and the car is perfect. Baring in mind this last episode was sorted out of warranty (it ran out in June) and with phone calls to keep me updated i cant thank AutoSales enough. They even washed and vac'd the car before giving it me back ! 5 Stars !!!

i used a 2 pack called CD2 from Halfords on my vRS before Trax last year and half the pics i took of the engine bay needed the brightness turning down in PhotoShop afterwards as the shiney bits were too bright !!! I did go back to my local Halfords to get another pack but couldnt find one so bought some engine cleaner called Gunk or something (bright orange can). i still have half a can of the detailer from the CD2 pack left so just wanted something to get the grime off.

on a recent works trip to Monaco we took 20 of these up in the mountains. your right about the quality, 4 of the them broke with 2 loosing front wheels, 1 burning its clutch out and the 4th having all sorts of issues. cracking fun for those of us that didnt break down though... lots of sideways action on and off road...

i like to think of the vRS as a "sports" hatch rather than a hot hatch... sounds more mature for a start which obviously the octavia is. 2 things the CTR does have that i'd like in the vRS though, decent supportive seats as standard and a very slick gearbox.

i wouldnt have thought so as there are no vents in the inner wheel arches that would let the air flow through

my brother had a CTR and i was going to get one until i got taken out in a vRS, then there was only 1 car for me. i dont regret buying a vRS either, my brother actually prefers to travel in my car if we're going to shows or long distance. i do like the type r but its not nearly as easy or relaxing to drive as the vRS. on the motorway i know which i prefer. at the end of the day the 2 cars were never designed to compare against each other though, something like a leon cupra r would be more like the CTR.

in certain car modding circles a young modder would pay decent money for such a respray... i think its a euro look myself but the colours dont work on that car... come to think of it those colours wouldnt work on any car...

reminds me of a 5 series with strange bonnet vents and twister style induction kits mounted in the bonnet i saw in Brum a few weeks back... how does someone come up with the idea of cutting up a bonnet and doing that sort of thing !?

to be honest they would probably ask the same thing about one of us spending 10K+ on a Skoda... each to there own and fair play for them having a go.

IHI turbo conv. strenthened internals, baffled sump etc etc etc... very quick car that used to hit the limiter in 5th on a standard 4x4 gear box. IIRC he now has vRS internals and does quite well on the cannonball type events

i think it look sok and gives a good idea of what the Cupra will look like... dont rate the wheels though, they could have at least designed something different the the old ones.

kind of like the guy i saw this morning riding a brand new CBR on the back wheel... looked cool as but i cant see the point on a public road my self.

RS4 is very nice, must say that Audi seem to be right on the money of late... would still love an Evo 6 Makkinen Edition though, in blue with white wheels.

its frightening to think that theres actually a car running round with that body kit... dear oh dear

i ran greenstuff pads on my R19 and with the standard disks they were very good. they warped a pair of black diamond cross drilled disks. with a pair of 288mm uprating disks and black stuff pads the car would do endo's

i fit a samco one on mine and wont be taking it off when i sell the car... to be honest i didnt find it a really pain in the backside to fit but did make a couple of silly mistakes which slowed things down. i wouldnt bother removing it if i were you.

2 dwarfs go to a club and pull a couple of girls. they go back to the girls place and seperate rooms. the 1st dwarf struggles to get it up, no matter what the girl does for him nothings going on. embarrassed he apologises and leaves for the night. the next morning back at home the 2nd dwarf says to the 1st, "how was your night?" the 1st replies, "terrible, i couldnt get it up, no matter what she tried. in the end i came home" he smiles to the 2nd dwarf and says "you sounded like you had a good night though, all we could hear was "1-2-3 thump, urgghhh. 1-2-3, thump, urgghhh". the 2nd dwarf turns and says "good night!?, f**k that, i couldnt even get on the bed!"

CTR's seem to hold their value pretty well at the moment, whether that will stay the case once the new one comes out we'll have to see. Boyced - just to let you know, i checked the autotrader site yesterday and most if not all the 03 registered cars with around 30-40K miles are going for £8995 some of these are private but most are trade.

have to disagree there. the wheels look harder edges without the centres and i think that suits the shape of the car better. good work fella.

move in with SWMBO ASAP and tell these two gimps to stick it where the sun dont shine. end of.
