Fitting Front Wiper Blades, is there a knack??
As title really... Is there a knack to fitting new Front Wiper Blades, without scratching the edge of the bonnet with the Wiper Arm body? Most cars I've had, you just lift the arm to it's erect position and it stays there... on my 2013 (63 plate) Mk3 SE Estate, I can only really lift the arm a couple of inches, before it hits the Bonnet edge!, I managed to get the old ones off, and fit the new ones, but it was a major Faff!!

What does the (K) stand for in the model name?
Quick Google... "Laurin and Klement If you're in the market for a new Skoda, you will likely have come across a trim level called Laurin and Klement (L&K). This is the range-topping specification on a selection of Skoda models, and aims to make the car feel a bit more upmarket inside and out than their more affordable versions"

MIB1 android auto/ car play solution
So my Infotainment looks like this, It's apparently the Bolero! It only has one SD Card Clot and no 'NAV' function... But all the versions of the upgrade unit I can find for sale, when they show "Requirements" All show a glovebox unit with 2x SD cards and the Screen has a 'Nav' button, I think it's the Columbus (or somthing) So my question is, does anyone reckon it will work with my set up, or am I stuck just streaming music via Bluetooth, and relying on my phone screen for Navigation!?!?

MIB1 android auto/ car play solution
Found loads of these on eBay and Amazon, all about the same price as Aliexpress.. £210ish But none of them seem to have any reviews! So I'm still a little cagey about pressing the 'BUY' button on any! I still don't really understand quite how it works! Plus they all say "Glovebox Unit must look like this" and shows 2x SD card slot Infotainment unit! mine only has one! otherwise everything is the same!

tray under drivers seat
Great Idea! as My High Vis is Waaaay to big to fit in the slot (I'm a Fat Bloke, My Jacket is a 4XL) Might stick a few essential emergency things in there!!

Long term coolant leak but no sign of it externally
I'd be interested in knowing too! as I've got a similar problem! 63 Plate SE with a DSG My local dealership investigated, they pressurised the system (no pressure problems) said the it might need a Flush and new bottle (at a cost of £1000) an even said (because I balked at this) that the Heating might not work properly! Which it does (after calibrating the ducts) But after 500 to 750 miles (sometimes even longer) I need to top up the bottle... well to the line.

MSFW Retrofit... Easy? or find someone else to do it??
I Know this has been asked time and time and time again! but the search is letting me down on my exact query! I've got a 63 Plate Octavia III SE Estate, 2.0l TDi (150bhp) with a DSG, and apart from only having a MIB 1 Bolero (which I would love to upgrade, but don't have the £700 for an MIB 2.5 system from VW Retrofit at the mo) I also only have the Bog Standard/Dumb 3 Spoke Steering Wheel. If I was to get all the parts needed to Retrofit an MFSW (with or without Paddles I don't mind) What parts would I need and Where from?? But trumping that question really is "How Easy is the Fit to do??" If the Answer is "Don't!! It's not that easy, plus you'd need a Workshop and a VCDs to get it working" My final Questions are - Is there someone out there that can source the parts and Fit/Code them to my car?? Plus What sort of Price would I be looking at for this?? Cheers in advance!

Variable boot floor question
Don't see why not! as far as I'm aware the Load Space in both wagons are the same (facelift stuff was body mainly)! it's just Skirts and Cabin stuff (and performance tweaks of Corse) !

No audio on Google maps and phone not working.
"ALIENS!" 🤔 😁 Sorry... Sounds like a Google Hic-up... I've had various Android Settings "Reset" or "Change" themselves with the upgrade! I think companies like Google, Microsoft and Apple, just change things when there's an update, for the fun of it!!

No audio on Google maps and phone not working.
My Phone (Motorola Edge 20 Lite) updated to Android 12 last night, and it lost proper streaming connection via Bluetooth to my 63 plate Octavia SE. The Music would play, but I'd not have any display (Track, Artist etc) or Control (Ffwd, Rev, Play Pause etc...) Tried disconnecting and 'forgetting' bot Phone on the Car and Car on the Phone... Then reconnecting! didn't work... Found that Android 12 has a new AVRCP version, by Default it's set to 1.5... I went into the Developer menu on my Phone, and set it to 1.4 (which was Android 11's default and worked in my car!) Now it works as before!

just bought 67 reg SEL NO CD PLAYER Aaaargh!
You mean to say the CD player was removed from the Glovebox when the SEL was made over my Lowly 63 plate SE??? weird, seems like a downgrade rather than an upgrade!!... I've got CD, AUX, SD, USB and Bluetooth (which I use to stream my 1,000's of Ripped CD's stored on my OneDrive using CloudPlayer on my Phone)

Jebus... a pair of H15's are £65 (H7's only £25) 😬

I'm Confused on Bulbs (2013/63 Mk3 SE Estate) - Plus Best LED Headlignts (if it's worth it!)
Thought as much! 😁 I've never heard of an H15 bulb... Did wonder how it was DRL and High Beam 🤔 cheers... I'll be sticking with Halogen on the Exterior (already done LED's front and Rear interior lights and the Boot lights) But I do want a 'whiter' light than is standard! so I'll look around! What's best Osram or Philips etc...

I'm Confused on Bulbs (2013/63 Mk3 SE Estate) - Plus Best LED Headlignts (if it's worth it!)
I've recently bought a 2013 63 Plate Octavia Mk3 SE Estate - 1969cc 150bhp TDi, Very low 33k on the clock. My previous car was a 2013 13 Plate Fabia Greenline II Estate, and the Manual for that car had all the relevant Internal/External Bulbs listed (as well as Oil type, Coolant type etc...) But I've read the Manual from Cover to Cover (all the cars paperwork/Bills were included in the sale) and I can't find an equivalent list in the book! I know the Headlights are H7's (or at least 2 of them are) and the Internal lights are W5W's (I've already replaced these with White LED's) Does anyone have the Definitive list of Bulbs (and Fluids) for this car!? Also... I'm intrigued by LED conversion Headlights (Brake Lights, Fogs, Sides and Indicators) for a cleaner 'Non Yellow' look!, Is it worth it, is it legal? Is it easy!? What's the best conversion/kits out there! that won't Madly Flash or give Errors on the Dash!? Why do some Headlight kits have Fans and some don't!?? Thanks Guys!

Skoda Octavia 3 Owners register
2 weeks ago I was talking to one of the guys I work with, I said I was trolling AutoTrader looking for a new (to me) mota! My current 2013 Fabby II Greenline with 140k just wasn't cutting it for me (and the wife was eyeing it up to replace her 2009 Fabby 1 that was dying!!) He suddenly said "My Dad is selling his car! he's giving up driving!!"... "it's an Octavia 63 plate, though the private plate on it says 53"... "it's a 2.0ltr SE Estate I think 150bhp" Without hesitating I said How Much, and when can I see it!?! He brought it in at Lunchtime and I almost immediately said "Yep I'll have it!!!"... I paid him what We-Buy-Any-Car were going to pay that night!!... Brought it home 3 days later, and I love it!! It's substantially bigger than my (sorry My Wifes) Fabby Estate and has Double the Powah!! Oh and only 31,650 on the clock! First bit of Customisation I did...

Dashcam Hardwire Advice
I'm picking up my 63 plate 2.0 SE on Saturday, and coming from a 13 Plate Greenline Fabby I'm excited... anyhew... My current Dashcam in the Fabby is a Thinkware F750 which I wired into the Rear Wiper fuse and popped a socket on the end (tucked under the panel on the side of the dash) Never been able to use Parking Mode, but it does the job, Switching On and Off with the Ignition! I was looking to move the Dashcam over to my Octy next week some time, and I've seen on Thinkware and Amazons websites, they do an OBD2 power adaptor... it's got a through connector so you can still plug a diagnostic in without unplugging. Apparently it comes on and off with the Ignition and also activates the Parking options! I'm seriously considering it!

1.2 tdi greenline EGR delete recommendations/video guides?
Just had mine replaced at 124,500miles (also 2013 1.2Tdi Greenline II but Estate) also replaced #3 Glow-Plug as that failed too! with a few other parts that had also worn (rear bump stops, some pipes and bolts) at 125kmiles, and Labour, stung me for £1400 Happy to say the mpg, that was bimbling about 64-66mpg has now gone back to about 70-72mpg (30 mile commute, each way, 5 days a week) Hopefully the 2 year warranty before it pops again!!

How many H7 bulbs should a Fabia go through??
Always wear gloves, and clean the bulb as best I can. I know the oils from skin can boil quickly and pop a bulb Not easy when sat in a layby in the dark!
-
How many H7 bulbs should a Fabia go through??
I use bog standard Lucas OEM bulbs, nothing special. I got a 10 pack in 2015, after the first 2 bulbs popped! And the RAC man charged me £16 a pop!!

How many H7 bulbs should a Fabia go through??
Just how many?? I've had my 13 plate Fabia II Greenline Estate since new! and in the last 7 years it's gone through 11x H7 bulbs!!! Is there a wiring fault (that my local dealership can't find) is is this an inerrant problem wit H7 bulbs?? Really they should last longer than 6-8 months!!! On a side note, what sort of pigmy's do they have working at Skoda?? My hands aren't that large, but it took 30 minutes to try and get the bulb back in place (I believe it's the Fuel Pump in the way on the drivers side... Battery on the other) I had to call my wife, who bundled our boys into her car (Basic Fabia still rocking it's original H4 bulbs from 2009) drive 20 minutes to see if her tiny hands could fit! Took her another 15 minutes to get it positioned and turned! Not a great design!!!

Fabia radio upgrade
Cool, you can either plug your phone in with an aux-aux lead (cheap as chips on Amazon) or Bluetooth (there are loads on Amazon to choose from) I think the Fitment is just Double-DIN size, but the facia will need finding (there's a few out there) I also think a special ISO to VAG lead is needed if you go with an after market radio, as VW Group cars use a different connector! I could be wrong on that though!!

Squeaking Suspension (I think)
My 2013 Greenline II is doing this (has been for a couple of years) Only seems to do it if left to stand for prolonged periods, or its Damn cold (unfortunately due to current circumstances, both of these scenarios are relevant!) Had my local dealership have a look (they had it for a few days) they said that after "Intensive investigations" (their words), they found Nowt!! But still charged me an arm and a leg for the privilege! It stopped for a while, but as I said, because of the car standing for 5 to 7 days at a time (working from home) and the cold weather, when I do go out it's come back!! "Creak Creak Creak!" when ever I go over a bump, or hit a big pot hole (which there are lots of)
