  1. Parts ordered from RPS, with 5L of quantum oil came out at just under £60 so not too bad for the pipe, gasket and thermostat plus i needed some oil anyway.
  2. I've picked stuff up from Lofty before, top lad, and the trip to his house has some cracking views and lanes! If i had the money spare, and mine wasn't leaking coolant I'd come get em purely for the drive down lmao!
  3. Might be worth putting up the model year for it and if it's a pro, standard or air? I got a 2015 retina pro last year for less than £600 and that was pretty much the same stance, hardly used, brought it then boxed it - it's damn immaculate. Shame about the lack of DVD drives though :/
  4. Looks good! I'll investigate and see if i can get one and bore it out to 11.5mm Yeah you'd think so, it's confusing because the part number on a lot of the threads on here for the revised gasket just brings up the 32mm diameter opening one which is the original one? It's just one of those on the list things to do this year!
  5. Damn, i looked around but the only part number i saw was the one i posted, is there a way to find the 9mm opening one? That's the one I need to drill out to 11.5mm to sort this hesitation on the BLT engines.
  6. So, For the BLT Stutter thing, it's the 028 131 547 B gasket we're looking for right? I've asked RPS and they've said it's discontinued as of last year, anywhere else available for getting this? The local TPS is an ar*e to deal with so I've ruled them out straight away.
  7. I managed to get my account unblocked from the other forum, turns out the former admin has been erm, removed...and replaced with a much nicer one who's fully aware of the situation and happy to have everything expressed on the forum with no fear of it being removed ! So it's back up ! https://h-tune.co.uk/club/threads/holdcroft-honda-cobridge-holdcroft-in-general-review-thepromiseisbroken.188174/live#post-2334841 and the other one I posted it too was https://www.civinfo.com/forum/buying-dealers-servicing/414252-buying-experience-1-6-sr-civic-10th-gen-8th-gen-accord-holdcroft-honda-stoke.html I've had a rather positive number of responses from it tbh! I wasn't expecting 100% positive and I expected some digs by Holdcroft, but you can kind of tell who would be a genuine customer who'd be greatly annoyed if they were led down the same garden path as I was, and those who took the response as **** you, Holdcroft are the best thing since sliced bread (it really has been that OTT in one case...) Anyway, ombudsman case is still ongoing, and I'm keeping an eye on those who've been wronged by Holdcroft and will update every thread with each persons viewpoint, as some feel just because I'm the only person banned in 53 years that I must be some kind of tw*t, but it's not much to expect your car to just...work, I didn't want the world to be put right lol
  8. Oh, and after doing around 100K on original suspension, and a bit on JOM Coilovers until they broke, she's now back on factory springs and I put all new shocks on, wish I'd have done that sooner!
  9. Wow. So. This is old. She's now got a VW MFD1 unit installed, I did have a disk but it's gone walkabout so I need to find that... At some point I want a reversing camera install done, I've got most of the kit I just need to pay for the video adaptor. Heated seats were on the cards until I had a garage clearout and threw all of the wiring and elements away in prep for putting the 205 in the garage... Brake wise she's now on Mtec dimpled n grooved discs with EBC Greenstuff pads - night and day difference. She's now at just over 128K and still running fine. I say fine, there's a minor oil and coolant leak, oil leak I believe is the sump plug gasket and the coolant is the thermostat housing - both of which I'm ordering shortly as the cars been away for 12 months loaned out, I had an Accord EX-GT (2009) PN59YSV for a while but the supplying dealer sold me a lemon and yeah it turned into a right debate - in the end they purchased the car back from me 6 months later! So I'm back to reliable motoring Oh, and the central lockings going, and the passenger window doesn't like working, and the air con doesn't work - yay, stuff to do LOL
  10. Had this on mine, didn't work from inside or off the fob, in the end I checked the switch contacts with a meter and you could see there was a signal going to it so I just replaced the boot lock plate entirely with another used one, been fine since
  11. I saw that, but the diagram you've referred to doesn't list the BLT engine code. They the same on either engine? Is there part numbers anywhere for the thermostat and housing if not?
  12. So I'm leaking coolant from the housing, unsure at this point whether it's gasket or a crack in the housing but at this age and 126K on it it's probably worth replacing the housing, gaskets and thermostat, does anyone have any parts catalogue links or part numbers for them? Because I'm struggling to find them on OEMPC catalogue, and Ebay's useless as it shows multiple versions fit the VRS despite clearly saying its for a different chassis platform (the MK2) Thanks
  13. Yup! Presumably if I'd have had an accident I could have argued it's on finance with me so it's insurable interest but if that failed I'd have been stuffed!
  14. Don't have the V5, dealership was supposed to register the car in my name as part of the sale, they put the tax through which meant they must have had either the tax reminder or the log book as it needs one of three reference numbers, following that I assumed I'd get a log book in the post as you do and thought nothing more of it until it came to the complaint and sending the car back - at which point they kicked off saying they couldn't accept the car without a V5, then when I queried it with DVLA they said there's no registered keeper for this vehicle at all, there's a blank on their system. Yeah that won't help if there's no registered keeper for the vehicle, I had it confirmed with two separate advisors at DVLA, they confirmed I'm not the reg keeper, the dealership hasn't registered it as under trade with them which I believe they're supposed to, and it's not reverted back to the previous owner either (assuming he registered it also) That's the problem. For your insurance to be valid you declare you're the registered keeper of the vehicle, and I couldn't say how many other keepers it's had as I never had the log book to see the value So that essentially meant it didn't end up in trade as it should have done (which presumably makes the dealership insurance on the vehicle void as well, so any test drivers wouldn't have been covered as the car isn't technically in their ownership nor are they defined as in trade with DVLA, my insurance was void as I wasn't the keeper, I was paying tax on a vehicle I wasn't the keeper of which is quite a feat considering to pay tax on the car you need the logbook reference or tax reminder, neither of which I ever had (dealership set it up), and the GAP insurance I believe was also reliant on me being the registered keeper - which I've never been!
  15. That's what I asked dvla but they said they aren't listed as the keeper and neither is the dealership. Sounds like a right bodge job. Gonna try find out who the previous owner was and see if I can gleam anything from it.
  16. Got to exhaust the ombudsman first I sought legal advice already, they and citizens advice said a similar thing, they were in breach of consumer rights law because the fault reoccurred within the first 6 months so you're entitled to a refund, the fact they wouldn't leaves them on shaky legal ground, in addition they fall foul of the misrepresentation act, as they represented the Accord as a vehicle without fault despite there being issues that weren't remedied prior to pick up, and second the Civic was purchased on the understanding we'd have official heated seats and He-Man dual controls installed, it's misrepresentation as it's clear from a legal perspective that had we known we weren't getting those parts that we asked for it would have affected our transacational decision. I'm in touch with some other complainants at the moment, one who went to buy a Type R and noticed a whine on it, turned out the gearbox needed to come apart for diagnosis so he asked for a refund and stopped the transaction, rather than fixing the fault, they put the car back on the forecourt and sold it to someone else in the same condition who's since made contact with me and the dealerships trying everything to get out of admitting there was anything wrong with the car prior to sale. I'd love to find the previous owner of my Accord to be honest to see if it was sold with faults, if it was then they don't have a leg to stand on.
  17. No it's Holdcroft, largest dealership network in my area covering multiple manufacturers, ive had an outright ban put on me for standing up to the dealerships wrong doings. Haven't gone to the papers as yet, it's on the list of things to do though!
  18. skodaparts.com, there's a big sign on the website saying not taking future orders. Did you get the same price from bikerton as the website? If so problem solved!
  19. Kind of, trading standards have shut down their call in numbers UK wide now. You have to go through citizens advice and they pass the info on to trading standards and then they 'might' get back to you if it's something worth looking into, I've been on the phone to em every few days updating the case etc. My next port of call is the ombudsman. Hopefully! I mean I asked for a receipt for them having the cars, they sent that through (head of the business again), where he put the following: "Please accept this email as confirmation that we have taken possession of both Honda vehicles and all outstanding funding has been cleared. I am very grateful for the removal of the google review, will you be removing all other reviews and negative facebook comments (Also SWMBO's Review on facebook) I hope you and SWMBO's are enjoying your new cars and I wish you both well for the future." (Wife's name replaced with SWMBO, because SWMBO!) Note we've not changed or removed the review, and we can't remove anything from social media as they block anyone who posts a bad comment or a review that's not 5* on facebook etc. They had me banned from HondaKarma (Honda forum) too and they've still got the cheek to think that because they brought the cars back, which cost us £1232.34 to do so despite not saying what the money was for or how it was calculated - that we'd accept that as yes they've dealt with our complaint properly They banned me from every UK dealership they have which covers multiple manufacturers, all because they couldn't deal with a complaint properly! Duck
  20. Did anyone found out why they've shut up shop?
  21. So I'm now rid of both the Accord & the brand new Civic, they refused to work on either car, to honour any warranties, or service plans they were still taking money for. In the end they purchased the car's back from us but charged us to do so, when I asked what the payment was for and how it was calculated i was told you're not allowed to know (alarm bells?) They called me to site stating they wouldn't put an offer in writing, then when I got to site gave me an offer letter - in writing...we had no other choice but to go for the offer and felt we were pushed into it as we couldnt use any of the local honda garages as they were all Holdcroft - to make matters worse I contacted a non-Holdcroft dealership who said let me look into the history of the Accord and get back to you, rings me back and says because of your complaint with Holdcroft we dont want to get involved either, so that ruled out other dealerships in the area also, the MOT on the accord was coming up, the Civic needed servicing but they refused to do it or repair the warranty items they caused the problems with etc. I asked them to arrange collection of the Accord, they arranged a flat bed, so i finished work early to prep the car - the guy arrives 5 hours later with a copy of the offer letter to sign, ONLY THEY'VE CHANGED THE LETTER. So he got turned away, I replied to Holdcroft and said I'm signing the letter I agreed to, not your amended one as you never discussed this with me when I had two witnesses present, you're not pulling a fast one - The response? From the HEAD OF THE HOLDCROFT HONDA BUSINESS? "Unfortunately my generosity has run out, the failed collection yesterday was out of our control, the aborted collection was at yet again another cost to holdcroft so please arrange the vehicle to be transported or driven to site via your own method" This is despite earlier stating: "Please arrange with Mr Mountford for us to organise and collect the vehicle from his address today or tomorrow. This is to ensure Mr Mountford is not put in any danger bringing the car to site." In the end I rang the AA to move the car down to their site, where they kicked off about there being no V5 and saying they cannot accept a vehicle back without a V5 So I rang DVLA after checking the house and not being able to find it, DVLA confirmed I've NEVER been the registered keeper of this vehicle and there's a blank in their system, there's NO registered keeper showing at all! This means my insurance between Feb-Oct along with the GAP insurance has for all intent and purpose been VOID! So the dealership didn't even register the V5 in my name when I bought the car! I raised this to them when the Accord was taken to site Via the AA and their hostile tone then changed to one of "Yeah we know about that, it's fine", even SWMBO noted that they were hostile to me in tone and attitude but not her. I'm tempted to take the Fabia back now or continue getting the 205 on the road, but the fabia has a broken shock which ideally wants complete new suspension on, or at least a set of standard put back on it, the foam is wearing on the drivers bolster and the car's losing coolant, we suspect head lift along with it starting with BLT hesitation...don't everything come at once ay..
  22. Well I took the Accord back to the dealership on friday via AA escort as they couldn't understand why it had gone again either. Dealership refused to accept my keys and said the vehicle would be towed if left. I asked for this in writing and half way through someone writing the email a call came through and said person told me they'd been instructed to write nothing down. Went back to the AA and asked him to update the report to state they refused to accept the vehicle, which he did. Staff member comes outside and says we will "look" at your accord if you remove your reviews online (wife was on the phone at the same time and heard the lot) - something's not quite right with that statement... I rejected it and said I won't be blackmailed nor bullied by a dealership - (disclaimer: I personally feel it's blackmail, victimisation & bullying however I may be legally wrong) I sent them a response yesterday asking them to purchase the vehicle back from me for what's owing on the finance for both the Accord and the Civic as they've now refused to repair the Accord or Civic and this includes any warranty or servicing or MOT's, my second offer was if they could not buy the vehicle back then offer something of equivalent value. They have a deadline of Friday 28th September to respond, or I'll be instigating my final right to reject on the Accord as it really has become the automotive proverbial lemon... Started looking for replacement vehicles, I should have gotten that MK1 superb I wanted instead of a Honda...
  23. Wow I've not posted in here anything Skoda related for a while, my bad. cue everyone ripping me about buying two Honda's with problems What do people feel the value is going to be in the VRS going forward? Reason I ask is I've got a 205 STDT (it's a 1.8 TD essentially a factory build diesel GTI) I'm SLOOOOOWWWLY restoring, and I'm potentially going to be getting my VRS back as my son in law's fixing his A3 (diesel and oil mixing, it's the 2.0 PD...) so once that's on the road I'll have the 205 and the fabia sat not doing alot while I use my Honda Accord as a daily. 205 prices are rocketing, but they have to be in great nick to do so - and I'm wondering if my money is better spent on fixing up the Fabia, which needs a few minor things cosmetically, or a full restoration of the 205 - I don't know what the value on the VRS is looking to be going forward... I've also got an MFD1, which were rare when I found it, I assume they're gold dust now - what's the going rate on them, because if I keep the 205, the Fabia will be sold with the standard CD player installed and I'd sell the MFD1 separately as it wasn't there when I brought it anyway - It's a one prior owner from new example with full service history up to about 80k then I serviced it myself every 5K, it's been absolutely babied in comparison to some of the nails we've all seen on facebook doing the rounds, the insurance market value when i went to quote insuring it again was around £1900 which shocked me, they seem to be holding value better than I anticipated. Just interested to hear peoples thoughts :D
