Surely it would have been easier and cheaper to fit the Amundsen, activate Bluetooth via VCDS and fit the microphone? Thus keeping the black edition? Lack of maxidot is a bit of a tit though I guess.

Oh, the wife has an estate Monte Carlo estate. The octavia was an estate and we don't want for much room! Very practical, if a bit ugly car.

I went from a 170CR VRS to a 1.2Tsi and haven't regretted it at all! Power is the obvious elephant in the room, but isn't unbareable. Size wise, the cabin is designed to be higher up to make use of space, again, fine! I enjoy the Fabia, it feels like a little nimble car in comparison to the rather heavy Octavia. I personally steered clear from the VRS as the engine is notoriously ****. The Fabia forum is often filled with stories of the CAVE (early engines) going bang, huge oil consumption and engine replacements. im sure some people are also on about the CTHE starting to flounder too. Octavia was bulletproof, so not looking to argue with dealers every few months about problems.

Both my monte's have wheel nut covers.

This worries me slightly. I have a late 2011 model and I've not heard such a noise yet but use the car daily. Feel like I need to leave it sitting a few days and see if this happens to mine.

I noticed it today, as I've said a few times before, I have a 2011 hatchback monte and my wife has a 14 plate estate monte. I noticed today that the rear of my car is very sparse. I looked several times before I realised that she has a 'SKODA' badge on the left side of her tailgate and I have... well, nothing. Is this right? Were they that ashamed 3 years ago to put 'Skoda' badges on it twice?

This blows my mind a little. I'm pretty sure I have that said unit and the lights are perfect.

I was positively impressed by my monte's lights. They're better than the Octavia and I was shocked they weren't upgraded bulbs when I took them out earlier today. (VAG use Osram as standard don't they?)

Being blunt; 99% of technical information is from non paying members and to be frank, if it was a premium website, that wealth of knowledge would be lost, hence why it's free to use.
