  1. Nice. Does it function correctly and was it easy to wire in??
  2. Thats impressive, best I've had is 105 downhill on the autobahn, GPS confirmed . Maybe the 16 inch wheels on mine slow it down a little hahaha!
  3. In some cases wbac will come up trumps. They will offer me more for my citigo than any dealer will.
  4. I don't think they do the 0% on pre reg ones and skoda have apparently stopped doing the free servicing now too.
  5. Good job, the stripes really enhance the citigo.
  6. As far as citigos go the wbac prices are similar to trade in values. Obviously retail values are far higher.
  7. My 63 plate sport is valued between 3.8k to 4.2k via cap. Can't belive how much these depreciate!
  8. It depends how you look at the numbers. The rest of he world has no obsession with owning things but for some reason the uk does?. But you could buy a new citigo cash for 10k, after 3 years it's worth 3.25k so for 3 years you've spent 6750 On a pcp with 1 months deposit you could get them over 42 months with no deposit (the only way to make a pcp work in your favour) with a Gfv of 4000 total cost over 3 1/2 years 6000. And you got 3 years servicing. I've been down the whole buy cheap second hand and to be honest I can't be arsed. There's too many potential big bills - I've seen too many people buy an Audi with low mileage and have to pay the best part of a grand one year for a clutch and dmf and a grand next year for a turbo, modern cars aren't reliable or cheap to repair- and I don't have the time to faf on any more, I have a life which gets in the way!

    Downsizing!

Yeah the cars are fine on the motorway will sit at cruising speeds all day long. You should easily get back on 1 tank. You should get at least 55 mpg in the motorway. keep the speed to 60 and expect well into the 60s.
  10. There is a known fault with the base of the aerial on the VW trio. I've had my car done but I thought it was fixed on newer models.?? My thoughts, take your car back to the dealers.
  11. And that's another way us buying cars on pcps have scored. If I'd paid cash for my citigo (10k) after 42 months it would be worth about 3k so I'd have lost 7k of my savings as it is the mgfv for mine is 3.8k so I'm 800 better off. Than if I'd paid cash, plus I got a 750 discount for buying on finance plus 3 years free servicing. Yes, pcps suit the manufacturer by boosting new car sales but they help us by ultimately paying less for cars. At the end of the day the majority of new cars are sold this way nowadays.
  12. I'm still not sure I get this whole you must pay cash attitude. Firstly it will be way cheaper running a car like a citigo on a pcp v cash and secondly I'd never want to waste, yes waste my savings on a car. I'd rather pay 15k off my mortgage which would in effect be a 25k mortgage reduction. Far more sensible use of my money IMHO. At the end if the day I pay 120quid a month for my car, I can easily afford this So its no worries for me. I could go out and pay 2k for a banger but I'd probably spend the same again over a few years on repairs. As it is I've bought a citigo using cash I don't miss, whilst still having ny savings that are at least staying the same in value whilst the car you have bought using savings has lost 60 - 70% of its value.
  13. I think youd always get a better deal on a pcp v cash as with a pcp the dealer has the commission from the finance company to play with.

    Downsizing!

Welcome to citigo land I think the citigo is a great little car. It drives well, the engine is revvy and you get good economy. You seem like you have a good spec on yours too! I do feel like changing mine every now and again but then I look at mine and think its a great looking little car ( especially with the serpens wheels), I then take it out for a blast and always decide I love mine again. That said, im after a monte carlo steering wheel and a remap!
  15. In the past ive used cash to buy cars outright or taken out short term bank loans. In the case of the citigo I used a pcp. At 0% plus the servicing thrown in it was a no brainer. Especially as the car will depreciate by a load more than what we are paying!
  16. That looks like a decent deal me.
  17. Skoda don't do servicing deals at the minute. Neither do seat and vw have cut theirs back to 2 years for 149.
  18. There should be a few hundred to play with and they may be able to offer you a loyalty bonus. Just expect to be in negative equity at the end of the pcp despite the bull they may give you.
  19. Bluecar I can't see the values on the up trio getting better and as skoda have added about 600-800 onto the final values things are probably gonna get worse. That said for the savvy buyer who puts no deposit down on 0% finance is getting a car on the cheap as they are paying less than it will lose.
  20. Just picked upnthe Mrs new car today and spoke to the vw sales manager. He's confirmed that even the ups are still well into negative equity at the end of pcps and people are handing them back. So anyone who got a citigo and put a deposit down is going to lose it unless they buy the car.
  21. I think the vag group are doing loyalty discounts too. Be aware though if you get any of the trio on a pcp you will have to hand it back at the end as there will be a load of negative equity.
  22. Glad you are enjoying the car mate after the hassle with the crapid!!
  23. To be fair I love mine And am tempted to buy it at the end. I was fancying getting a monte Carlo but for a few reasons I prefer my sport. I guess I'll have to see whats going on in a years time....
  24. No. If the car is worth less you hand it back and vwfs take the hit. However it can still make sense to buy the car as say mine is valued at 3.5k at the end. Although it may cost 3.8k to buy the retail price for the car will probably be 4.5k to 5k so you are still getting a car you know the history on for a good price.
