I orderd 20th September and initially told I'd have it before Christmas but due to all the delays with various options it's now looking like February. I'm sure it will be worth the wait!

I ordered my car and started to get cold feet, I went back to the dealer and said I've not really got a "good deal". I basically told the salesman I came in for a deal and not just buying the car at list price, after a conversation with the manager the salesman knocked 4% off the car and I was very happy. Now it's the long wait for it to be built.

I've been told the same, it was also mentioned that they wanted to keep the factory open 24hrs a day 7 days a week to clear the back log...... Weather that's true or not they need to do something!

It's shocking mate, I find I comical that there's no system in the factory, it's just luck of the draw. I'm going through the same thing, orderd 20th sep and still no build week!

My focus was an 07 plate low mileage, full service history and it was immaculate. They gave me £6000 and they said that was an over estimate quote.

That's not bad, they told me my car was loosing £200 a month so it went a week later, to be honest it was never going to loose £1000 in 5 months after investigation!

Haha yes I got a cheque as well for £126.87..... Dunno where the 87p came from, the could have rounded it up... Buggers!!

The finance company legally owns the car until final payment is made and they sent you a letter saying that they no longer have any interest in the vehicle.

To be honest I have always put me as the owner. I wrote my fiesta ST off and said to the insurance company it was on PCP and there was a bit of a debate over the phone about who the cheque should be sent out to, in the end it was sent to the finance company.

The dealer wouldn't guarantee my p/x and I thought I'd save my self a few quid on road tax witch was due and a service. Looking back I was a but hasty to get rid of my car...... Oh well

Did you ask for the loan car? I was told my car would be built in 12 weeks from order so I part exchanged my car the following week, now it's looking like 5 months.

Haha yes indeed, few beers, bottle of wine and a curry! When my car is built I will call the car insurance company and see what they say, I'm interested to know now.

Sorry mate, just went back on to compare the market and you are correct! I've now tried it with both options- me as the owner and personal lease and it's a few pence in it. God knows what I was doing last nite!! Lol.

I've had a few cars on PCP now and was never asked- bit worried now tho. Done a quick quote online at compare the market last night after reading this and it never asked who the legal owner is.... So if they don't ask they don't get in my eyes. However other insurance sites did ask and if I put in the car was owned by a lease company the quote went up by an average of £80....

One of the customer service managers keeps telling me that my car will not get a build week until 16 weeks from acceptance from the factory. Orderd 20th September-week 38, accepted at factory 25th September-week 39, should be built week 3. He's probably saying that just to get me off the phone so he can go back to looking at him self in the mirror!
