  1. Get the head off and see whats caused the issue? Surly that is the next step from here.
  2. I'm booked in, anyone fancy joining me for a post Christmas blast? http://www.javelintrackdays.co.uk/trackdays/index.php?route=product/product&path=60&product_id=168
  3. VWs are better than Skodas! The fact I spent all my money on a badge and now all I can afford is happy elephant tyres is irrelevant!

  4. My GF asked me why the water level kept going up and down on her car. I was puzzled at first so asked her to show me... it was the temperature gauge. Her previous 2005 Yaris didn't have one, the only car save for the instructors car she'd ever driven. I doubt many pay much attention to the temperature gauge, and don't VWs gauges only have 4 settings anyway? Cold, Warm, Up to Temp, Your HG has gone.
  5. Always gets a bit mental doesn't it Window regulator replaced as I wound the window down forgetting it wasn't going to go back up :( Oil changed again @ 59800. Oil cooler needed before next summer I think, it didn't look like 4-5month old oil.
  6. My mum recons her 2CV was the best car ever on snow
  7. Fitted my snow tyres last night, then cycled to work this morning It was 'interesting' getting off the estate but soon cleared up off the hill. Traffic was at a standstill just like every snow day.
  8. Oh i lied. The car wasn't faultless. The window regulator on the passenger side has started making some very funny noises. It would only go up with assistance so its stayed like that since I've got a spare in the garage so hopefully I'll fit that before I forget and put the window down...
  9. Its forgettable from the outside... pretty much the whole idea was for it to be so :P
  10. So I took the car to the Brisky Racing Brands hatch day last weekend. 600miles dead on completed over the weekend and the car was faultless. Brands day was wet and I found it quite tricky, much more so than Blyton which I really enjoyed in the wet - but that has no gradient changes and half the cars didn't bother once it started to rain so more space to have moments. Never really got in to my stride if I'm honest between red flags, traffic and the slippery surface. My brother did a lot more driving than I did in the end and he seemed to enjoy himself. Have some brake judder after the 20minute session my brother put in. Going to have to find a solution... a) stop him from driving more cooling c) limited time sessions. Maybe just all 3
  11. Wasn't me it was my brother. I was slow as anything through Paddock Hill, everyone going off down there didn't exactly inspire confidence Managed this on an out lap just by lifting off a little: Felt much more slippery than a normal road surface, but that may just be psychological.
  12. Did you get this from your POV? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jtiFH6NjiYk&feature=youtu.be Edit: refuses to embed.
  13. :( Wish I could find another set of 1.2s. Infact 2 more sets would be perfect! Goodluck and hopefully see you on the way or if not, at the hotel.
  14. My car will be available for passenger rides when my brothers driving as I honestly can't go out with him every time I'm a terrible passenger and get car sick
  15. Would be better off making it from Steel. We could fire up our mills and of course the states in the rust belt get to fire up theirs Win win.
  16. I've been watching a bit of this guy in the run up to the election and he called it for a Trump win a bit back and got the numbers nearly right (he's Libertarian rather than Republican and a 'soft' Trump voter). He touches on the electoral college setup a little in the video linked and the fact of course the US is a Republic (worth a watch imho), and how it allows rural, less populated areas to have a voice that is not drown out by the shout from the cities. I guess when you have such a vast country with such a vast difference in population densities between states/counties how do you balance it out? A few million rural voters in a state the size of England get drown out by the vote of a small city, yet ignore the rural areas/issues and you may find you have no food next year! What I do find odd still is that the states choose not to split their votes (with the exception of Maine and Massachusetts iirc).
