  1. That sounds ace. Proper run out. Have you seen Rammstein before? i believe they put on quite a show... Shield looks good, glossy. Have you any thoughts on the 1250gs?
  2. See, i like to know whats happened. Makes me head feel better when it all makes sense. Maybe im strange yeah bike choice makes a massive difference doesnt it. Always said it was a bad idea buying an R1. He crashed his 675 daytona last year cos a car was turning right and he tried to get past it before it got to the junction and failed. Complete nut case, but a really nice bloke when not on wheels. Bet riding a bike like the electraglide doesnt make you even feel like going fast anyway, just happy relaxing? Thats my attitude towards it too. Swmbo doesnt like it, esp after this summer, but if you’re half sensible riding and enjoy doing it, cant stop can you you’ll be lookin forward to that already then soundd ace
  3. Spoke to you before on facearse, but very nice Tom! Atleast you knew what you were in for ;). Anything put you off the M140i or is it just an age, price thing? Bloody expensive things arent they aha. Lookin forward to many more pics!
  4. Good effort that man. Also with there being a new SRR out next year (which i think looks massively orgasmic) would you of been content with having the old model after such a short period. Love the ZX10R. Should be plenty of poke to be going on with, use it wisely! What are the upgrades then? i like upgrades
  5. Ta. Jesus mate, thats abit grim. Sort of hope it wasnt the elderly drivers fault though, as they're the surviving ones, living with that would be horrible. My mate was unfortunately doing the speed of sound on his big bang R1 on a local A road we know well. As the road goes to the left over a brow he lost it and ended up plowing into a motorhome. Bits of bike found ages away, engine on fire n that. Very sad day. Especially for his wife n young daughter.. and his mate that was following when it all unfolded. He actually overtook my brother about 10 minutes before. Brother didnt realise who it was but said he's gonna kill himself riding that fast, to his passenger, as the R1 was wide open doing a 4 car overtake at well over 100.
  6. One of them isnt it bud, we all know we're taking extra risks. Especially when doing a million miles an hour. ta. You really should get out on that BM more though ;).
  7. Cheers! Yanno what its like, boys and toys! Just keep tinkering don't you aha. Mainly on needlessly expensive bits like below! It needs a steering damper really. The front end is proper flighty n gets abit out of shape on the undulating but complex A roads we have around here. I was going to get this sorted with an ohlins damper which popped up. Didnt jump on it though cos i needed the sat nav more (which i wasnt sure how or where to relocate) and i lost a mate in august due to his R1 antics, which put me off riding briefly.
  8. What a weapon. Id of stood there until he got back in watching every move as he opened the door tryna slide in and not touch the bike.
  9. Theyre lovely dogs! But yeah, abit big for the top box . Plenty of steps in walkin that i bet! Roadtecs were good last time i had them, on the tracer, so thought id stick with what i know. PR5’s are supposed to be the latest arent they but its a risky business when you’re stuck with them nah couldnt take anyone on this tbh. The pillion seats tiny and theyd have to have the leg length of a new born. So might aswel do away with that
  10. Not been on here for yonks. Not venturing into the other parts but always quite liked this section! Good to see you’ve all been busy! Likin the Baby Beemer Kev. Bet its right chuckable? Fancy your mate doin that, sounds a unit though, hope you nibbled his ankles to show your disapproval. Stainless headers on the cbr? Looks loads better. Bet you wish you did that years ago? My SP’s had a few mods. Seat cowl went on as soon as i saw pyramid plastics have started making em in the right colours. Then a rear peg delete, because you wouldnt wanna be on the back of that even if there wasnt a cowl on. Then it needed new tyres after 3k miles. So Roadtec 01’s are now on. Whilst i was doing i swapped the chain adjusters with spacers (which get put in when you remove the horrible wrap around numberplate and fit a traditional tail tidy) for Gilles anadized adjusters, their fandangled locking nut and a pre 17 axle because its shorter. Then went stainless caliper bolts etc.. so yeah, tyres were expensive... Got the DAS6 Plus on it too to remove all the dealer marks. Came up a treat. I was sposed to be keepin this one standard...
  11. I think the only difference between the CrossClimate and the CrossClimate + is the performance when worn. Supposedly the + is better further down the tread, somehow. How long should they last...Wouldnt that depend massively on what car they're fitted to and how its driven. I mean, you wouldnt expect a diesel VRS to eat tyres at the same rate as a 1.0 citygo.
  12. It's been the same with bikes for years mate. People buying R1's will have rings run around them by a 250 on a bendy road. It is mainly about skill. RWD bias 4WD is always more fun. Heldex is abit **** imo and takes some provoking into getting sideways like it should in some cars and not just lighting up the front. RWD bias is fun from the start. Should see how much the GTR uses the front wheels. Literally just when the backs sideways, it will use the fronts to pull it through. Proper interesting to watch on the display, but quite difficult at 100+ sideways.
  13. however you justify if it, its not really the point. A 140bhp 1.4 isnt going to use as much fuel as a 3l IL6.. nore is it as fast. He obv likes em, to keep buying em. Light nose cars are good cos they do change direction well but you do miss the meatiness of a proper size engine. Best mates got a 550bhp 3.8 n its like a hurricane howling past everything at full chat, look behind n theres just a cloud of dust. It's big, but its well worth the trade off. Turbo'd engines are the way to go, for weight and power.
  14. he does have a point. a 2.0 IL4 is not a 3lt straight six. But surely he knew that before he bought it aswel. Yeah but isnt yours 140hp? gonna be better on fuel isnt it aha.
  15. Odd. Usually bmw’s with low profile tyres are rough
  16. People seem to be happy with them. For me, i think the 60mm longer swingarm will spoil what makes the tracer fun. Its so agile and playful for the sort of bike it is
  17. Just like a summer tyre. They arent a soft compound like a winter so not much of a trade off in warm weather
  18. Cant beat a natter. I'll practice my pronunciations...
  19. Not like diesel. And it depends how much weights in a petrol and how slow you’re willing to release the clutch. Anyway. I feel like theres a debate with everything here. Ill leave it at that. Have fun in your 1980’s auto (:
  20. they just need a driving lesson or 2 then . Worse on petrols when people are revving the engines and slipping the clutch more to prevent stalls. Atleast diesels will go on tickover.
  21. Conventional yeah. But its 2018 and alot of basically manual gearboxes controlled by electronics. 2 clutches even.
  22. Still technically riding a clutch i guess but the gearbox is slipping it rather than the driver?
  23. Hmm dno. He made £2k on the one he had before. Just bought it right, toyed with it for abit n sold it. Just hope the fix words for effected cars. Problem with the twinchargers was that their wasnt really a fix. Even with an engine replacement, you might of got another lemon
  24. Maybe they struggle with hillstarts...
