  1. Thanks chaps, my other half overheated up in London yesterday evening and on the phone I worked out there was no fan running. She got home okay after the traffic cleared and she could do 30mph unimpeded. I had a look after work today and found the link fuse above the battery had continuity but a very faint looking crack, removed the nut and it fell apart, quick swap with the adjacent spare and job's done๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘Œ
  2. The idea of individual and paired mirror operation is you set the right using the pair option, tweak the individual left and then if someone else uses the car they can adjust both at once using paired option. I'm taller and sit further back than my partner and this works fine. Also if you're parking to car park lines you can drop them both at once and then reset - less faff ๐Ÿ˜Ž.
  3. Cheers all, turns out it was crap replacement HT Leads which happened to affect the same cylinder!! Still, trip to my usual garage confirmed the issue and sorted that and the dicky oil pressure switch that had literally just started playing up and while they had it I got them to change the thermostat I was gonna do myself so all was good. No issues since, touch wood! Youngs Garage Gasoline Alley Wrotham ๐Ÿค˜๐Ÿ˜‰๐Ÿ‘Œ
  4. Well all the info was good (and the fault disappeared for a while but its back) but instead of proving the earth was faulty, as previously on cyl 3, so I could slave in new wire, I've been able to confirm the earth wire as good and good supply voltage to the other pin. So I'm looking at the injector or the ecu at fault I guess? Injector resistance was 16ohm which I believe is about right? Thinking it needs a trip to the garage. Partner needs it quite urgently now. ๐Ÿ™„
  5. My partner's 2001 Mk1 1.4 16v AUB Fabia has been diagnosed by the RAC as having an issue with no.4 Injector so we're looking at an ECU problem or wiring snag. I'm thinking wiring is more likely the issue but I'd like to be able to confirm the wire colours/pins for No 4 injector at the ECU please? Weirdly enough I had a similar problem with the no 3 injector switched earth in April 2017, I slaved in a new bit of wire and it's worked well ever since.... Hoping for a repeat, today if possible as its not raining!!
  6. So finally got to check for parasitic drain using the multimeter CORRECTLY and look at that... No drain ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ Battery on 12.35v, turn key to illuminate dash lights and voltage plummets by more than 2v. Ain't starting anything like that! New battery it is, cheers for the Tanya link nta16 I'm aware of them ta. We have a great place in Tovil/Maidstone, SE Auto Electricals which have always be very reasonably priced. I'll be popping in this afternoon I think! Cheers for all the comments/help, if nrw battery doesnt sort it I'll be back ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘
  7. ๐Ÿง๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ฎOh man have I made a ridiculous schoolboy error with an unfamiliar multimeter I've borrowed?.... Having just looked at it again it even flashes a green ring round the sockets I should be using FFS!!! Didn't notice them in the sun yesterday. Did I mention my brain was feeling fuzzy?? So I could be chasing an issue that doesn't actually exist. I really should have stayed indoors yesterday. ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿฅด๐Ÿคจ Thanks for pointing that out though!!
  8. All that said and done when I removed the main cable to the panel on top of the battery and keep starter connected there's 0.428a drain... I then removed the STARTER cable/terminal and reconnected the top panel cable and I still got a 0.518a drain so I've still got a massive drain with either cable separately connected!?!?! It makes no sense to me.... Especially with a fried brain at the mo!! ๐Ÿ˜‚ N. B. The 2 thin red and black wires are just to a CTEK Charger plug
  9. Ahh I missed that post, so maybe it's a starter solenoid issue.... Cheers ๐Ÿ˜Ž๐Ÿ‘ Still ill - had to phone in sick, won't be looking at it today methinks... ๐Ÿ™„
  10. Well this is doing my head in a bit. Battery @12.55v a) everything connected = 0.51a drain b) ALL the strip fuses and blade fuses in the battery case disconnected = 0.44a drain c) main +ve cable from battery to rest of car disconnected, alternator cable connected to battery but removed from alternator = 0.44a drain d) alternator cable reconnected to alternator but cable/+ve terminal removed from battery and main car +ve cable reconnected drain = 0.51a I was thinking there was a short somewhere along the alternator cable from the battery as it doesn't look like a diode issue (?) but the drain goes back up with everything else connected instead of that cable!?!?! Am I missing something obvious? Its not helping today's general malaise, I should have had my feet up watching TV with warming drinks all day not messing about in and out of the rain chasing this in bloody circles ๐Ÿฅด๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿฅด
  11. Yes I disconnected all the strip and normal fuses and the drain barely dropped. Confused me for a bit then I realised the alternator cable is basically part of the positive terminal so yeah it's looking like alternator diode issue I guess.... Dammit. Dodging showers at the mo here cos I'm feeling a bit peaky but I'll whip off the alternator end of the cable and no doubt watch it drop!
  12. Ahh yes, cheers I'll pop out between the showers and have a look. Just narrowing down a bit has got to help! ๐Ÿ˜Ž
  13. Right my other half's 2001 1.4 16v Mk1 Fabia Comfort has a parasitic battery drain of 0.501 amps which obviously isn't good. The battery is old but no point replacing it til I've fixed the issue. I've pulled all the drivers fuse box fuses and the current draw didn't change... Where the hell do I look now ๐Ÿคทโ€โ™‚๏ธ
