Canton upgrade, recommended!
Lamboluke replied to Pumatron's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
Thanks for the reply. I'm not after a boot filling system like I had when I was 17 haha but something to just give that extra depth of bass is all I'm after. Will look into this when I have some spare brass. -

What work was involved in fitting it? Where abouts did you get it done? Thanks -
vRS TDI manual hatchback MPG
Lamboluke replied to djkarlos's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
44 average if rounded up. Done just over 1350 miles. Commute is 22 mile round trip on a and B roads. Had it up to 53mpg on a 30 mile motorway journey using cruise control. -
Managed to get 445 miles out of the tank in the tdi today. Managed to put in 46.5 litre in the tank. Drove it 10 miles on 0 range and on empty as far as the gauge is concerned. Averaging 43mpg over 1350 miles so far.
-
I'm averaging 43mpg over 900 miles or so in my tdi vrs. 22 mile round trip commute on 30-50mph roads. Plus the odd other journey thrown in. Did a 70 mile motorway journey today and averaged 53mpg using cruise control where possible.

Permanently disable Safelock
Lamboluke replied to ozoccy's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
So let me get this right. Pressing the lock button twice disables the deadlocks? I've been pressing it twice as a matter of course as this is how you applied the deadlocks on my old corsa. Will have to try and get into the routine of only pressing it once then. Good job I read this. Thanks -
Genuine VW LED Number plate Lights

Is it around 30 quid all in for these? Give or take depending on the exchange rate -
I assume because to be able to see such fine elements in a glass screen when sat in the car must mean you are focusing on the screen itself rather than what's outside of it. I'm no optician but I don't see how it would be possible to look out of the screen at the environment AND see the lines at the same time.
-
I have the winter pack including the heating screen. Worth every penny. Very quick. Regarding the elements it's only noticeable if you actually look at the screen up close. You wouldn't do this with a regular screen so I don't see why you would with a heated screen.

As I bought my car pre-built (a cancelled order) I never manually selected the options. The car had every option I wanted so was great. I've got the phone box in front of the gear stick and I'm wondering if this means I have the Bluetooth booster option fitted because of this. Is there a way to know for definite or does the phone box = Bluetooth booster when the phone is in it? Cars a vrs diesel if that makes a difference. Thanks

Mpg trip computer accuracy
Lamboluke replied to Lamboluke's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I would imagine the filler neck and pipes may amount to a litre -
I've sorted it thanks. Hack saw and a swift knock with the hammer was effective.

Mpg trip computer accuracy
Lamboluke replied to Lamboluke's topic in Skoda Octavia Mk III (2013 - 2020)
I don't think it's too much to ask for the fuel gauge to be accurate and be a true reflection of the amount of fuel remaining in the tank.Yes the range needs to be taken with a pinch of salt as individual driving styles and road conditions (plus a load more variables) have a huge effect. Having an accurate gauge is important. If all fuel gauges fitted were accurate then people would actually pay attention to them rather than thinking hmmm it shows 10% left but actually I have 30% left. -

I stand corrected. You would think these days they would be able to make the fuel gauge very accurate. Obviously not. -

8l seems a lot for a reserve to me. That being said knowing my luck I'll push it further next time, run out and end up filling it with 50 haha -

Yeah same. Just factored in that I've only used 42 litre to fill up. I'm not going crazy then. Wonder why 8 litres remaining showing so low on range and on the fuel gauge. Hmm
