  1. If your mate has vcds and he doesn't know the basics then I would be a little worried letting people near my car.u need to be in the 09 electrics then adaptations then select the function from the drop down menu m
  2. Nookiebear maybe yes different parts of the world will have different build dates your lucky yours has it at week 30 uk cars don't. And as soon as the info is available on the skoda desktop I will relay all info on how to get the badge and also if theirs cost implications. I'm sort of lucky that I work for skoda so get to know these things first hand.
  3. Why not use Eco mode or adaptive cruise. I don't get that it's a function if the car why not use them.
  4. It's hard to believe skoda won't do anything about it normally they jump on the issue and get it resolved ASAP
  5. I'm in the north east are if anyone needs a vcds adaptation had a few pm's lately relating to Vrs always willing to help out a fellow skoda owner.
  6. I run a Vrs Octavia est diesel and round town I get 48mpg I do a lot of door to door start stops for a side line I have and I still get very good results.
  7. Never Hurd of that one it seems very strange their is no fault codes stored as the technology is so advanced it logs all most every issue. Maybe it's a hardware problem. I have changed ecu's and control units for strange going on like that not so much engine cut outs but function restrictions relating to various electric problems.
  8. Skoda must have it wrong then. As this information was from the skoda' dealers network. Or the build week of your car is incorrect.
  9. As soon as I find out what's involved in getting the badge fitted I will post on here.
  10. Octavia vRS steering wheel badges temporarily unavailable Badges can be retro-fitted when supply is back to normal Octavia built from week 22 to 32 are missing the badge at the bottom of the new flat-bottomed
  11. Have you got a Vrs with flat bottom steering wheel with out Vrs badge. If so theirs a way to get the badge possibly for free not got the details yet will find out more tomorrow.
  12. The exhaust gases come out at 500 degrees or their about when dpf regeneration active.
  13. I'm in Stockton on tees area theirs quite a few in the Leeds area.
  14. Yes that is the right sensor the later ones use atmospheric pressure as a base line rather than the early ones that took a pressure from both ends of the dpf as stated above replace sensor blow out hose to the dpf and do basic settings (calibrate) the sensor with vcds
  15. Vcds or vag can pro for certan things but yes vids is the best.
  16. You can adapt the setting via vcds so you can have them wash the headlights after 2 or 3 washes of the screen rather than on the first wash of the screen in the vcds tweeks theirs instructions on how to do it
  17. I work for skoda as a tech and I also own a vrs 6 speed as above when the car is cold the 1st to 2nd gear selection is quite poor their is a grinding feeling through the gear stick when selecting 2nd. I have spoke to skoda technical and they say their might be an issue as the gearboxes are mass produced and are used for more than 1 brand so theirs plenty of them around. When I feel the times is right im going to remove the gearbox and strip it down (under warranty) of course as I work their I get the privilege and I get paid to fix my own car
  18. I fitted footwell lights to my vrs a few weeks ago was fairly painless and straight forward quite impressed for less thank £30.
  19. Yes when a screen is replaced the camera needs to be calibrated. The reason skoda dealers don't have the kit is its around £3500 for a white board with dots on it. We use out local audi dealer to do any we have
  20. Sorry mate missed that post I can confirm I coded light sensor back to standard car was left for possibly 12 hours and the leaving home lights came on so I now need to find a coding that works. Or leave it coded out.
  21. The car needs to be left for a minimum if 4 hours then unlock car in the dark or cover light sensor then see if the come on.
  22. It seems if the car is left for a period of 4 hrs or more it turns leaving home lights off until ignition is cycled then they work as you would expect.
