  1. Okay. If this is the case..if I were to bleed and replace brake fluid would that also class as a clutch fluid change?
  2. I have done some searching, on here, google and in the service. However I still don't know weather my 07 Octy VRS tdi has a hydraulic clutch or cable? If it's hydraulic..is the fluid shared with the brake fluid? Many thanks.
  3. This may seem a stupid question but where is the best place to purchase VAG Gearbox Oil? Is it as simple as going to a Skoda Garage and asking to buy there gearbox oil from them? Or are there websites which specialise in it. I'm aware of aftermarket oils and I'll be after a 70w80 or 70w90 but I just want the stock genuine Skoda/VAG one. Thanks.
  4. Okay! I'll probably speak to a local garage and let them do it and source the gearbox oil.
  5. Now I know Skoda say gearbox oil doesn't need changing and it's a life long oil blah blah... But I think it does! 07 plate VRS now on 112,000miles I'd like to have it changed. I'm getting it mapped soon in a few weeks ( I know the gearbox doesn't really play a part in this ) however I'm replacing/changing engine oil with top spec stuff for the engine and I just want the car running like new as best as I can before the map. So as far are gearbox oil goes..is there a specific type to go for? Synthetic, Shell, Etc...
  6. For £5.99 I can't go wrong so I'll be purchasing that. Yeah, well I'm deffo going to give it ago myself. Just need a guide on how to do it, I have a rough idea it's just finding where the sump plug is and where the filter is. Best place to get fuel filter from and are there cheap/premium ones?
  7. Okay 'Silver' I see what your saying Just a quick one this VW 507.00 oil - is that fully synthetic 5w30 VW 507.00?? Tbh' ' Lofty ' I've given a lot of thought into doing it myself..the main reason stopping me ( which may seem daft ) is what's the best thing to drain it in to? And where do you dispose of it?
  8. Okay this is extremely helpful I was just trying to find the cheapest option while not loosing out on quality. What would be a fair price to pay for a oil and oil filter change?
  9. Okay! However I'm getting a DPF delete and the internals taken out in a few weeks. Should I still go for a low ash?
  10. Okay mate thanks! Just a quick update, when I said ' ill be ' I meant a garage will be changing oil and filter every 10k.
  11. I have a Octy VRS 07 tdi Is 5w30 fully synthetic the correct oil I should be using? Or do people recommend/use a different one. I will be changing the oil and filter every 10k miles without fail. Are these guys the cheapest to use? http://www.national.co.uk/oil-vehicle-search.aspx I will be running the car mapped stage 1 + dpf delete in a few weeks if that changes anything. Thanks.
  12. As mentioned above ^ Is it simpley - manifold - DPF - mid section - back box - rear tail pipe ? Are there any cats on on the tdi version?
  13. Yes I will have to map out the EGR. But I'd really like to fit the blanking plate myself, in the right place. Any pictures or advice from someone who has done this would be superb.
  14. I'm going to purchase a EGR blanking plate off ebay for my Octy VRS 07. Has anyone fitted it themselves? If so do you have any pictures? As I'm sure you fit the pipe near the front of the engine where the EGR is on the right hand metal pipe or is it near the turbo I need to do it? Is anything else required? Extra pipes? Cheers!
  15. Blanking plates and a map it is then! Any where you know which sells such plates?
  16. I'm aware you still need a ECU EGR delete, however has anyone removed the EGR fully ( not just put a blanking plate in ) ? If not, has anyone just done the blanking plate? Any info, pics, pros, cons would be super
  17. Yes if you could record a video/sound clip I would really appreciate it. Thank you. Okay Ashely!
  18. Right! This is rather helpful Lee so thank you very much Have you got a sound clip or video? Is it loud enough to be heard by other people, people on the paths etc? Do u have a tdi vrs too?
  19. Today I went to get a cat back exhaust fitted on my TDI VRS. However when it came to trying on different back boxes we ( me and the mechanic ) noticed there was no change in noise. Ending up in having the middle box removed and having no back box. So literally a completely straight through exhaust system with a nice tail pipe...costing just under £300. Yes, I may have decreased back pressure & got an extra 1hp but there is NO CHANGE to noise level at all from the OEM...no a deep tone or a burble or nothing. Is this one a petrol car it would be illegal loud. My question is if I get the DPF taken out, will I finally get some noise from the exhaust? I was expecting some increased volume levels today after my cat back system especially with no mid box or back box but nope :/
  20. Yeah but add 20% VAT on £900 = £180VAT Stupid Government...but that's a whole different thread all together :P haha!
  21. Yeah that's what I've asked for ' the Miltek cat back ' obv the dpf will be gutted out so I'll basically have a turbo back system ( or dpf back ) Just need to justify the cost with the mrs -_-
  22. The main reason for a exhaust system is for a bit more noise, especially on acceleration. I agree with what you say. I was going to go for a open cone air filter for a touch of induction roar but I'll just be sucking warm air in. However yes a panel filter would give me performance just not any noise or very little.
